Fraud Artists
CRIMINALS! COMPLAINTS, HUNDREDS, OF BEING DEFRAUDED.
10/11/2007 SKY MOVING & STORAGE: Zero stars ! Absolutely horrible customer service. Make so many promises that they cannot keep. Not only were they 4 days late after charging me an extra $2000 for expedited service, they forced me to pay that charge even though they didn't fulfill their end of the bargain, despite speaking to the federal investigator I had reported them to.They demanded full payment while the load was still enroute. They refused to charge my credit card and would only take cash ?!?!?! They lied to me repeatedly about the location of the truck, and I know this because I had already talked to the truck driver and I knew that they were lying. Additionally, Kim, the manager screamed at me, basically held my delivery hostage for ransom, and then delivered MOST of my things, numerous items smashed beyond repair. They then lost several items such as an antique coffee table, and the back off of a custom built Italian chair. Making it even worse, the delivery men tore up the carpeting and put holes in the walls of my entryway that I now have to pay to repair. When they left, they stole all of my moving blankets and then nobody at all would (and still won't) answer any of my calls. But if you like lying, cheating, stealing movers that will guarantee a late delivery with all of your valuables destroyed, then these are the movers for you !
SKY MOVING & STORAGE, Hollywood FL : The WORST moving company in the world. My experience took about a year off my life in terms of stress and aggravation. It's not just me: Google the phrase "Sky Moving & Storage" and scan through the complaints on several different web sites.
Once all of your belongings are on their truck, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MOVING PROCESS, the only things Sky can guarantee are
1) They will waste time and charge for supplies never ordered or used and jack up your rate 3-4x the original quote, DEMAND CASH FOR THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS or they will keep your belongings, and laugh at you while cheating you.
2) They will be disgustingly late arriving & delivering your goods.
3) Their reps (David, Kim, Dennis) will be viciously rude to you once the move is in process.
4) They will lie, cheat, damage, defraud, extort, blackmail.
5) They will use your credit card for unauthorized charges.
6) They will try to get all of your personal information, driver's license number, your credit card security code, banking information, and your signature authorizing them to use your credit card for whatever.
7) They will make your life a living hell.
God forbid you should go through the same experience I went through.
WARN EVERYONE YOU KNOW NEVER TO USE THIS GANG OF THIEVES.

Dishonest, poor communication and unreliable
I chose Sky Moving based solely on the ‘glowing’ reviews here at MyMoverReviews.com. Had I researched the mostly-negative reviews of this company in other websites, I’d have avoided them like the plague. They were dishonest, unreliable and didn’t care about customers.
When I spoke with Shiri of Sky Moving, she told me to give her – on the spot - an inventory of all the items to be moved. That should have been a red flag, because one of the things that set apart reliable, quality-service movers from crappy ones is how they take inventory. The former either give you a list on paper to itemize (to be sent back to them), or send a representative over to do inventory. On-the-spot verbal inventory is a sure sign of crappy service. It is also very inaccurate because one cannot remember everything every time. For me, there were items I forgot to include and didn’t realize it till much later.
According to Sky’s quotation, the rates were based on weight and had a “Tariff Discount”. Never heard of “Tariff Discount”. I guessed it was intended to give the false impression that Sky provided the ‘lowest’ rate. It sure looked that way on paper. However, the quotation didn’t matter. Because Sky wasn’t the one that came by to do the moving. The one that did showed up went by a completely different rate and led to a much higher cost.
I called Sky again on June 17 to reaffirm the address, date and transport vehicle (smaller than semi-truck). A man on the other line reaffirmed it all. Sunday, June 27 came. Waited till late afternoon, but no phone call from the driver as promised by Shiri. I left two messages on the office phone, in part expressing my concern that no driver was going to show up. Then at 7pm, a woman (#512-981-9417) called to tell me that a driver named Bobby would be coming the next day (Monday). She gave me his number (after I asked her for it), from which I called him. He told me – over two calls – that our items would be picked up on Monday and delivered on Tuesday. He did not tell me straight up; I had to ask him specifically. By that time, I had an uneasy feeling that there would be more problems to come.
Monday, June 28. By mid-afternoon, driver Bobby neither called nor answered the phone despite several attempts to contact him. So I called Ms. “512-981-9417” twice. The first time, she said she’d try to contact Bobby then call me back. She didn’t, so I called her an hour later. She said Bobby didn’t have the PO. How would he be able to get to my place without a PO?? I was already worried. I then called Shiri. It sounded like she wasn’t at work. Background sound suggested she was elsewhere getting out of her car, and there was a kid with her?? After expressing my frantic state, she said she’d get in touch with the driver. 30 minutes later, someone named Steve from Compass Van Lines called. He said he’d be my driver, and would get to me when he finished with his current job. Except he didn’t know when the current job would end. He and his crew didn’t show up till 9pm. This meant that our items would not be delivered until the following afternoon.
When Steve went through the paperwork with me, I was charged $2.80/cu. ft. for quoted volume, and $3.80/cu. ft. for volume that was over. Since I was allegedly 200 cu. ft. over, that was an extra $786.60. 20 extra boxes of 5 cu. ft. each totaling over 200 cu. ft.?!! Bullshit! Furthermore, Compass charged me by the volume. Sky quoted me only by the weight – $0.81/lb within quotation and $0.90/lb for weight that was over! Not only that, Steve tried to fleece me by claiming his ‘boss’ wouldn’t accept money order (for 50% of remaining quoted balance to be paid during pick up) that was made out to Sky Moving. In the first place, I didn’t know Sky contracted the job to Compass until a few hours before Compass showed out, and that was late in the night on pick-up date. Even then, Steve wouldn’t confirm the approximate time he would show up. Up to that point, I was under the impression that Sky was doing the moving. That was why the money order was made out to them. Yet Sky did not even have the courtesy to contact me “prior to pick-up date” to confirm arrival as promised. Steve didn’t care. The $528.00 money order was no good. I would have to re-withdraw the rejected amount plus the remaining balance. Total projected cost = $2804.00. I could cover $2276.00 (if Steve would accept the money order), but not $2804.00. Where would I get that kind of money? (The following day, prior to delivery, Steve said that he accepted the money order, so I only needed to provide the remaining balance.)
Compass delivered on Tuesday mid-afternoon, with some damaged furniture. The whole experience was a nightmare. Stressful, poor to no communication from Sky, prospective burned finances and plenty of wasted time. I learnt now what to look for in a mover company the next time I relocate. Certainly not Sky Moving and Compass Van Lines. Any company that doesn’t charge by volume isn’t to be trusted. Furthermore, Sky did not offer an GNTE (Guarantee Not To Exceed) proposal, which allowed them and the contracted movers to charge me whatever obscene amount they wanted. But one question remained unanswered. Who was Bobby (#512-981-9418) and Ms. “512-981-9417”? What did they have to do with the moving?

scammers
I found a website that said if I filled it out with a list of the items I needed moving that movers would then contact me with bids. I filled it out. I listed every item. My nephew who was living with my daughter in Debary, FL was moving to live with me in Norman, OK. All his possessions fit in one bedroom that was 7.5 feet by 9.5 feet. This was a small move. The following day my phone started ringing off the hook and emails were pouring in. I had one phone message from Claudia with Sky Movers asking me to return her call. I then noticed that Claudia had sent me an email with a quote attached for 1400lbs (200cf) at $1045. I called her, and called all the other movers, and discussed the move. They asked lots of questions about the move and I answered them. Claudia said that was smaller than she had previously estimated and that she would be sending me a new lower estimate. I received it, the poundage and cubit feet stayed the same, but the price was lowered to $990. When questioned about it she said that was the minimum they had to put in and his stuff would not be near that. This seemed to be true because the other quotes I received had the same numbers. I reviewed everything and decided to go with a company called “Moving Out” whose price was a few dollars cheaper and they threw in two wardrobe boxes. I called to let all the companies know of my decision. Claudia informed me that I should reconsider “Moving Out” because they are having legal problems with the way they handle moves. She the reconfirmed all their affiliations and told me that they were a company in good standing. Then she told me that she not only would meet that company’s price but would also beat it. I told her to send an email with this and I would go with her. She sent a new estimate; the cubit feet and poundage did not change, just the price, and the two free wardrobe boxes. The new price was for $954.81. Then she asked for my credit card number and an email with my signature. I gave her both. Then she asked for a photocopy of my driver’s license and my credit card. This made me uncomfortable. I could not understand why I needed to do this when I had already given her the numbers on the card. With all the stories of identity theft I asked for another choice. She told me I could do a direct deposit. She gave all her account number with routing number. I went to her bank, Bank of America, that day and handed them $190.96 cash (the 20% down deposit required), and they perform the direct deposit. I then called Claudia to let her know it was done and asked her to send me an email to confirm that they received it. She agreed. This was on Wednesday. On Friday I still had not receive this email so I called her again and reminded her that I would like a confirmation email. She said that her manager was supposed to do that and that she would make sure it got done that day. I never received the email. Sunday, Seth gets a call telling him the movers would be showing up a day earlier (Monday) between 6pm and 9pm to load his stuff. This seemed reasonable because we were told his stuff would be put with another person’s move. So we figured the driver was loading the other person’s stuff first and then would come to my daughter’s home to load Seth’s.
On Monday, the driver showed up at 9:30pm, later than scheduled. My daughter and nephew were concern that the truck was not only old and beat up, but was empty. He handed my nephew, Seth, some paperwork and asked him to sign it. My nephew started reading it. The driver pressed him that it was late and he just needed to sign it. My nephew told him he needed to read it first. The driver pushed harder while Seth continued to read it. Seth came to a clause that concerned him and asked my daughter to read it. The driver pressed harder just to sign it. My daughter read and questioned the driver about the clause concerning the extra 90 cent a pound that they would be charging if the items were more than estimated for. After some discussion over the matter and looking at my nephew’s stuff he informed my nephew and my daughter that my nephew’s belongings was a lot more then the estimate and the price of the move would be 2 to 3 times of the estimate. My daughter called me and had me talk to the driver. After much going back and forth and trying to understand what was the problem, I resisted paying the inflated price, and questioned why the estimate was so off. The driver then called his manager and my daughter overheard him listing off the items my Nephew was moving. This was less then what I had initially given when the estimate was given. I was instructed to call “Sheila” his manager, at 305-494-7747. I called this number. She explained to me that the amount of stuff my nephew had was much larger than the estimate was for, and that the contract states that I would need to pay 90 cents a pound extra. I question how the estimate could be so grossly wrong when I had given a list of his possessions, and he had actually downsized from the list. I explained that I had gone over it with Claudia she was aware of what this move entailed. Sheila said they never received such a list. I asked her if this was true then how her company knew that this was one bedroom worth of stuff and not a 4 bedroom house. She did not give an answer to this. When I continued to press the issue Sheila claimed that my Nephew must have called their company and changed… I quickly jumped on this lie and stated he had never called them. He didn’t even know the name of the moving company I had hired. The she told me that it was because I live in Oklahoma instead of Georgia. I question what did that have to do with anything. She explained that because I lived in Oklahoma which is so far away I should pay more. I told her when she made the estimate she knew where I lived. The estimate was based on where I lived. Then she told me that her company based their estimate on another companies estimate that they had price matched. I agreed that indeed her company did price match another companies quote, but the only thing that had changed was the total price. I explained that I still had a copy of the original quote and that her company estimated the cubit feet and poundage on this first estimate. The estimated cubit footage and poundage did not change. We argue over this for a while then she looked it up and found I was correct. Then she again demanded I was going to need to pay a higher price than was originally estimated if I wanted them to move his stuff. I then told her I would not be doing that and that I prefer that she rescind the contract. I explained to her that her company was not acting in a professional manner, or with integrity. I had listed the items I need to be moved and they given me a quote based on the information I had given them. I had gone over the list with Claudia it was clear what I needed to have moved. I also said that I assumed that they were a professional company that would know what they needed to charge to get the job done. I expected that they would have been at least close to their given estimate. I explained that I had moved many times and worked with many movers and their estimates were always right on the money. Sheila then told me that if I had moved so many times then I should have known that their estimated weight and cubit feet were lower than it should be. I told her that I trusted that her company was a professional company who was capable of determining what was needed to get the job done. After this kind of back and forth eventually she said that her company purposely gives an estimate that is much lower than needed in order to get the business, otherwise if they gave a true estimate no one would choose them. I told her this was unethical and I would not be paying more. She then asked if she could call me back so that she could talk to someone above her. I agreed. I patiently waited a long time. Then the driver called me. His accent was very hard to understand. It sounded as though he were trying to make a compromise by making a new verbal contract with me. I apologized to him that I couldn’t understand him, and asked him to put my daughter on the phone, then tell her what he was offering, and she would then tell me. He did this. He told her that in his opinion Seth’s stuff was not much more than the 1400 pounds estimated, could even be less, so just agree to let him load the possessions then he would have them weighed and we would just pay the weight price for the move, he wouldn’t charge for the extra cubit feet. As I asked questions I found out that he did not weigh the truck before coming, nor would he be going to a weigh station before the stuff was put in. He said he would weigh the items at the office and just let me know. I let him know that I have been lied to multiple times so far, and that I would not be able to trust him to just let me know the weight of the items. If I were to agree to his terms he would first have to have it in writing, then he would have to go to a truck stop or weigh station, have his truck weighed, then put the items in the truck and Seth and Kasiah would go to the weigh station with him and have it weighed. He refused. Then he offered for $1900 he would move the stuff, no weighing. I refused. I understand from my daughter that he later tried to pressure and intimidate my nephew to just sign the paper work and let him load the truck. Then my daughter who overheard the tense loud voices came over to them and started talking to the driver herself. She explained that her mother was not going to pay the increased amount, and they would not be loading the truck, until her mother worked things out with the manager. She told him that her mother was waiting for a returned call from the manager and they just needed to wait. I understand that the driver got up in her face and spoke more forcefully. He told her that her mother was never going to see her deposit again if Seth did not sign that contract now. My daughter is not easily intimidated stood her ground and explained things once again. The driver eventually gave up and went out to his truck. After a short period my daughter heard the truck drive off. He never informed me that he would not be waiting for his manager’s direction or that he would be leaving. He didn’t even let my daughter know he was leaving. He just drove off. I was flabbergasted. I immediately called the Sheila, the manager, to let her know what the driver had done. She replied she knew the driver left. By the way she said it I understood she had told him to leave. I was stunned. I mentioned that I had been waiting for her call back and why did I not receive it. She said she didn’t want to. She said she didn’t feel there was anything she could do so she decided she didn’t feel like calling me back. I was upset. I told her that by refusing to call me back, and instructing the driver to leave without telling me she failed to meet up with her obligation to the contract, and she had rescinded the contract. I demanded that she return my deposit immediately. I also demanded that she send an email to me telling me how and when I would be receiving my deposit. She explained that she was at home right now and that she would have to do that in the morning when she got to work. I told her that would be fine. She then told me to call her in the morning to remind her. I told her that I would not be calling to remind her she just needed to take care of it first thing.
I waited most of the morning for the email. Eventually, I called. When I asked to speak with Sheila, the person who answered did not know of a Sheila. I told her that last night the driver told me that his manager’s name was Sheila and gave me her number to call. I repeated the number he had given me that I had used to talk to this manager. She recommended I call that number. I called the number and an answering machine picked up and identifying that it was Sky Movers leave a message. I hung up called the main office again. This time the operator said that Sheila would be in the office in 10 to 15 minutes and that she would take a message. I left my contact information with her. I waited and after a half hour I called again. Again, I was told she was not in. In the mean time I started researching the company. I wish I had taken the time to do this first because it was frightening what I found out. Even though they were a member of the BBB they had numerous complaints about their business practices. I found their actions were not unusual this was how they handed the others who had complained to the BBB. When I discovered that the owners name was Shirley I wondered if that was who I talk to that night. I wondered if I misunderstood the driver with his thick accent when he told me to call Sheila his manager, but then why didn’t she correct me when I asked if I was speaking to Sheila. Even her office would say there was no one with the name of Sheila working there and then later they would tell me there was. Later, I tried again. This time Kim answered the phone. She told me there was no one with the name of Sheila. I then asked to talk to the owner, Shirley Baruk, she told me that was impossible. I asked to talk to the highest person in charge and she said that would be the owner and that it would be impossible to talk to her. She asked if she could be of assistance. I asked her to look up my contract and give me the name of the driver. She looked it up and told me the contract had been cancelled. I asked her to forward me an email telling me this and she refused. She told me that I had cancelled the contract and I needed to send her an email stating so. I told her I did not cancel the contract her company did and explained this situation. She asked if she could look into the matter and call me back. I agreed. Hours later I tried calling her. When I told her who I was she became extremely rude and demanded I send her an email cancelling the contract. I was confused; I thought she was looking into the matter. I tried to question what was going on and she abruptly demand I send the email and that she did not have the time for me and hung up on me. I sent a carefully composed email that explained the night’s events and how the driver drove away and the manager had not called me back. I stated that her company had rescinded the contract by doing so and that I expected a full refund. I have not heard a word since.
A few weeks later I received my VISA statement on it was a $114.57 charge by Sky Moving and storage on 6/30. I was horrified. My husband immediately contacted VISA and let them know that was not an authorized charge. Will filled out the necessary dispute papers VISA sent us and VISA issued us a new credit card. They had used the credit card number I gave initially for the down payment for their own pleasure. I was so glad I did not give them the photocopy of my driver’s license and credit card that they originally requested. I wonder are they using this collected information for an identity theft operation.

Left abandoned without movers
Scheduled a move - 11-21-09 for delivery to 11-22-09 from SC to FL - never showed up for pickup even after several phone conversations and they took 20% deposit out of account. They left me stranded in SC with no way to get stuff from point A to point B. This could be a scam business - I am not sure - but do not schedule anything with this company - You will never get a hold of them.

SCAM ARTISITS
: Complaint concerning Sky Moving and Storage_ We are now without even our clothes—EVEN MY CHILD!!!
I am writing in hopes that you may be of assistance of helping expose and resolve another scam artist company that is not only taking people’s money, but their property. After doing much too late research, I have come to realize I am not the only victim. I am also concerned in the fact that the company is run by many foreigners, whom lie about their identity and names. It truly is a circus.
I had called several moving companies in the area of Florida, as well as checking online with various companies from P.O.D.S. to U-Haul. However, moving from PA to Fl, I felt it was best to use a moving company for the first time. In order to simplify the entire situation, please review below the events and problems in chronological order.
• August 31st, 2009 I called several moving companies to check for prices. Several companies gave me quotes, Sky Moving was the lowest. I spoke to “Shiri”, who was extremely polite and explained the moving process, as per her company operates.
• Shiri asked if I needed the moving people to pack for me. I told her no. Shiri and I discussed a general, on the moment inventory of my items in order to give me an “estimate”. Asking how the move is priced, Shiri stated that the price goes by the “weight” of all my belongings. At no time did she discuss any other way that the move could be charged. After going through a semi detailed thought of what I have, she told me she could give me a “very close” price for the move. At that time, this was the ONLY way that I was to be charged for the move was in according to the weight. Shiri did explain to me the rate could be higher if the weight was greater. Shiri said it should not be off by much. She stated she had given my stuff “extra” weight, so the total cost is probably going to be lower! Shiri also explained that there was an extra charge of $75 for extra steps if I had more than 16. I told her I was not sure, but if there was more, than the $75 was ok. She also EXPRESSLY explained that beyond the extra steps (if any), and only by the weight of more items, or change of destination (for example anther state), could the estimate of $1, 667.00 go higher. Shiri said she would email me the estimate we discussed so I could see in writing what the charges were. Excited about the move, and pushing a close date to move, Shiri said the “first priority”, was to go into my email, and e-sign the document she sent to guarantee my move, which was very quick to the date. Apparently she had my email address wrong, because I did not get it. I called the next day and we both realized “Shiri” had the wrong email address. She sent it to me while I was on the phone with her and I did receive it. I verified the amount on the estimate, clicked he link to e-sign and let her know by phone or email it was signed. I will check phone records and emails to be sure.
• Other general questions discussed were moving to and from locations, the date of the move, which was agreed to be on Saturday, September 5th, 2009, if they were able to carry cars (I was considering to fly down but needed my car), and I was also told that 3 men were to be moving my items. At that time, Shiri asked if I was flexible for that day before, Friday, Sept. 4th, 2009. I told her it was not a problem to be Friday, but at least have me ready for Saturday pick up. When discussing payment, Shiri told me that she was going to take a deposit for the move, but she did not state how much, she would need to ask a manager. I then asked if the total balance was due at the time of delivery, which she stated yes. As we agreed on the price, as well as the purchase of service, I provided her with my credit card information and told her I could not have the card charged for the deposit until the day before the move because I had to put money in my bank and there were no branches of PNC Bank in Florida. The closest one was over 140 miles away. She said it was not a problem, and told me I could pay for the move with the card I provided for her. I truly believed my move was going to be great considering the fact Shiri expressed no hidden charges.
• On September 1st, 2009, I arrived in Philadelphia from my flight to go home and start packing. I emailed Shiri and asked how much it would cost to have Sky Moving transport my car. She feverishly called and emailed me many times to quickly provide a price of $895. I told her that was way too high and she said she would talk to a manager and call me back. Within a few minutes the phone and email was buzzing. She gave me a new price of $795.00. I told her I could not afford it and she said ok. I questioned her again for my own security about my move on the 5th. Shiri told me everything was great and she personally would call me the day before the move in case I had any other questions.
• September 5th, 2009, I emailed Shiri to see if she heard any word on when the truck was coming. I had not heard from her all day, and it was already Friday. I decided to call. Shiri had a brand new attitude on the phone with me. She was very quick and cold and said “Dispatch will call you”. I heard people in the background laughing and Shiri even made fun of my politeness by imitating me and mocking me. Startled at what I heard, I paused and realized Shiri had already hung up the phone.
• September 6th, 2009, I waited patiently and really believing that they were not going to show up, I called Sky Moving to see if they were coming. Early afternoon I was getting worried when no one came. Again, I was told by someone else who answered the phone “dispatch will call you”. In order to not start a fight, I cautiously said ok and waited. Around 3:30 p.m. I saw the truck pull up. They stayed inside the truck for a few minutes. I was beginning to wonder if they were coming out. Finally they did.
• The first worker upstairs was “Joe”. There was another male in the truck who stayed inside for quite sometime. “Joe” came up and did a brief walk through of my apartment. In LESS than one minute, Joe stated that I have too much stuff and he immediately laid a lot of paperwork on my kitchen table. He then asked that I sit down so we can discuss the price of the move. I had no idea what he was talking about and said I had the price and payment worked out with the office. He stated that what “Shiri” gave me was a rough estimate, it didn’t matter, and he was now going to charge me by “Volume” of space I used in the truck. I got upset right away as he sprawled out papers and calculators and smooth talk. It is apparent he was going to change the price the minute he walked in. Furthermore, I am misunderstood how they could check the weight of my items with no scale present, and how they planned on moving me with one guy sitting in the truck and no tools present to be ready to move. It was nearing 4:00 p.m., which was considerably late starting a move.
• “Joe” then explained to me that the price would be ok and he was saving me money. He also explained that there would now be charges for packing materials as well as the fact that I MUST pay him in cash or money order or he would not move my items. I was furious over the ride he was trying to take me on. I told him it was NEVER explained to me that I need to have cash on hand or a postal money order in order for them to move. If he needed payment, I authorized him to charge my card. I told him Shiri has my VISA number and she was taking care of it. He told me no, and whatever the total cost of the move was to be today, as per his determination, half of that amount was due now in cash or postal money order. It was Saturday, at 4:00. There were no banks open, no post offices open, and everything I own in boxes. I got very upset and told him “Here’s my card- Charge my card”. At which time he refused and said he could not accept it. He took my card when he first arrived to receive an “imprint” of the card and made me sign my receipt which was already charged for $333. I later realized the online contract provided to me did not state this. If you look at the new Revised written estimate, it states there that this is the policy.
• “Joe” and I began to get into an argument verbally and I told him he was scamming me and this was NEVER discussed with me by Shiri. Joe decided to play good cop bad cop by stating she must be “new” and that is the policy. However, he quickly pulled out his I-touch and called his “boss”, as I insisted thinking this was the driver scamming people. After Joe hung up with his boss, he told me not to worry about the money now, it would all be due on the time of delivery. He stated that everything he told me was Sky Moving Policy and they should have explained it to me.
• Joe started to write a new estimate by “Volume”, which is completely unfamiliar territory to me. He insisted the move may even be cheaper in the end. He told me for sure, “I will not know the total cost until it is all loaded in the truck”. He told me I had to sign the paperwork in order for them to start even loading the truck. I got even more angry and confused to this “policy”, considering he did not even have a rough idea of how much and why I have to sign a “non-binding” estimate in order for them to start loading. He explained he could not fill in the price until the truck was loaded, as volume goes by the amount of space used. After I got into another verbal argument with him, he stated the estimate was non-binding and even though there was no price on it. Again, we argued back and forth about me signing the document because I didn’t want to agree to terms under these pressures, and I don’t like signing my name to new policies I don’t agree with, AND there were no prices on the estimate.. He stated “Everything was the same with the move, but we cannot move anything until you sign the paperwork”. Nearing 40 minutes of arguing, my entire house in boxes, and Joe stating repeatedly that this was only an estimate and not final, I felt had no other option but to sign the papers. He reminded me the sooner I sign, the sooner he can start. To my huge regret, I started to sign the papers.
• Even more so, Joe handed me a letterhead paper stating “Gratuity Policy”. The paper, as well as “Joe” explained that the drivers only work for a small salary, and they believe they do a good job. The paper (still in my possession) requested that I give “10-15% of the TOTAL cost of the move. Not knowing yet my bill was to become $4, 200.00 Later, the audacity of even $420 per driver is absolutely INSANE. “Joe” also reminded me to tip him on the way out the door, as well as the other mover.
• After signing the paperwork, Joe hopped up and called his “boss” again, before the ink could dry! Joe’s snake like attitude became quite happy in a turn around and he called the other man up to start helping. The other man came up and looked around and started to bang around my boxes and move them downstairs. BEFORE they moved any of them, they brought up a huge box of packaging tape and started to open all of then. Joe and the other mover taped every box I had over and over and over again, even though I already did that. Laughing to myself and noticing it was a bit strange, I didn’t ask why. I felt if they wanted to go overboard taping and taping, ok then. I did find it bizarre.
• Another deceit on paperwork, came to be that “Joe” had a different name, Yoshi. The other guy kept trying to get his attention, and he kept hollering “Yoshi, I need you”. When Yoshi realized that he was exposed as to his name, he quickly went over to the other mover and whispered something to him. From then on, and as signed on Sky Moving’s “Legal” documents, he was again known as Joe. How is a document legal if you sign a ficticous name? I can verify the driver to this day by looks in case they provide some other person named Joe as a worker. The other mover continued to call him Joe for the remainder of the move. As I was making phone calls to friends and family in Florida, and no one available to help me, Yoshi was marking up inventory on the charge paper. He did forget to keep marking my items with my inventory stickers. Every time I mentioned it, he said he got them all.
• Halfway through the move, Yoshi asked me to come and look at the truck. He was explaining the volume I used (which I have no CLUE as to what any of that means). He also kept expressing how good of a job his partner did packing the truck. In between running around and making my phone calls, Yoshi was sneaking in texts or emails to someone. Perhaps a friend, but my belief is it was the office. Again, the payment issue was not resolved yet and Yoshi knew that.
• After all my items were packed into the truck, Yoshi and his friend left a mess in the front of my apartment building, as well as in the house. There were tape rolls everywhere and garbage all over. I suppose that was my job to clean it up.
• Fear beyond everything I know, Yoshi sent the other mover into the truck to drive and wait for him. Yoshi filled in the paperwork with numbers and handed me the paper. The new price was $4, 922.04! I started to get very upset and argue with Yoshi that he scammed me. However, it was too late. With the truck running, the other mover out already, Yoshi handed me my paper and told me he would call me personally 24-48 hours prior to delivery, and that I MUST have cash or Postal Money order in order for delivery, OR I WILL NOT RECEIVE MY ITEMS!. Frustrated, exhausted, angry, and beyond upset, Yoshi left with a smile.
• Tuesday, September 08, 2009, I had spoken to many friends and family about what happened to me. Carefully trying to pick what I should say, I asked my fiancé to call and ask to speak to a supervisor about what happened. After some hours, “Shiri”, who is also “Kim” by email and voice (yes- 2 identities!), called back. I sat there in my office and placed her on speakerphone. Kim, Shiri, whomever she really is, again had an attitude from Hell and started stating contract talk. Talking over top of him, she then stated she would need to talk to me as it is my account. I told my fiancé to hang up and I immediately redialed and put her again on speakerphone. Kim, whom is really Shiri pretended to be a supervisor and explain that I signed a contract and that’s the way it was. I brought up the payment scam and the price and told her I was contacting my attorney. She was rude as can be and said go ahead, offering little to none explanation over the phone as anyone who is scamming would, due to people tape recording phone calls. Seeing it was not going no where, I PURPOSELY kept a cool head and stated “If there is nothing you will do to rectify this problem, and you are telling me to go to an attorney, then I am hanging up the phone in order to avoid fighting, you will be hearing from my attorney”.
From the date of this letter, I have saved emails, “contracts”, and all paperwork given to me by Sky Moving. It is now Tuesday and I still have not received a call from Yoshi, who told me my things would be delivered by Monday, “Maybe Tuesday the latest”. Without the money to pay for the new amount due, OBVIOUS smarts that they will be damaging, selling, or losing my property, I have ran out of options on whom to contact. I also see that if I pay the attorney, I can be easily bled dry and have definitely NO money left to receive my goods. How do I tell my 9 year old all his toys, memories, clothes and everything he has ever owned is now gone? How would you tell yours? Nobody deserves this “Domestic Terrorism” from foreigners coming into our states and raping peoples wallets and personal possessions. I am hoping that these dirtbag, low class company is exposed so that this STOPS happening to people. I have googled the complaints and I am horrified as to what others have gone through. I will make it my personal goal to see that they are exposed for their illegal business practices, ethics, theft, and emotional harm they are out giving. These people are head hunters, and before they take someone YOU know for everything they own, LITERALLY, please consider this situation for someone older, or handicapped, or a baby losing even their bottles and clothes- all to blackmail and scam money from people. Good people with families. I further suggest that all the people who HAVE been scammed, contact the Miami FBI office, as this company has been shut down and reopened.
