Having placed an order for £112.95 with Interflora on the 10th March 2009, to have a guaranteed delivery on Sunday 22nd March (Mothers Day). The order was subsequently passed to Slinders Florist in Rochester, who confirmed the order to Interflora and had not reported any issues. Mothers Day came and went, no delivery from Slinders Florist. Worst still no phone call or email explaining any problem.
I called Interflora and they chased Slinders Florist who apparently apologised to Interflora for the "non-delivery" and would deliver on Monday (which they didnt) however I informed Interflora a delivery after Mothers Day was pointless and Interflora agreed and refunded my money. So well done Interflora for accepting the blame and also explaining whilst they instruct and advise their Florists how to manage events such as Mothers Day, some fail to listen. Having received good service from Interflora before, I accept their apologies but I think they should strike Slinders Florist from their services or at least provide options for customers to select a quality florist or block ones known to be poor quality.
This was not the first time Slinders had dissappointed, in 2008 they almost failed to deliver again. Delivering approx 6.00pm on Mothers Day, which I also thought was exceedingly poor service as the day was pretty much over for my Mother! Other local Florists seemed to all deliver before Midday, my brother also used Interflora and his order went to a different florist and arrived as expected in the morning.
This year my Mother assumed I had forgotten, I was travelling on business and therefore not able to visit her. Mothers Day is a special time for all Mothers and whilst she claims to understand it wasnt my fault, she was distressed that she believed i had forgotten.
It appears Slinders just accepts all the orders they can, with no plan on how to deliver on their obligations. There backup plan appears just to take the money, hope to get away with delivering another time.
I can not recommend anyone to use Slinders Florist, especially on an important events or days such as Mothers Day. I am sure other customers were also affected on the Sunday, I had emailed them but NO response.
