BREEDER SENDS SICK YORKIE PUPPY
I purchased a male Yorkshire Terrier Puppy from Smithscountrybiewersandyorkie... He was shipped to me by plane from Georgia to Minnesota. He was sent with his AKC registerable papers and had a Georgia Department of Agriculture Certificate of Veterinary Inspection which was dated and signed by Veterinarian the day before I recieved him that stated that he was a 10 week old male weighing 1 pound 10 ounces. The breeder did not send his vaccination/de-worming records and sent him with Puppy Chow in his traveling crate instead of his regular food he was eating which was Eukanuba. When I asked the breeder about his records and the wrong food, she basically said that she was very sorry that she forgot his regular food and had to purchase something for him to eat on the trip and Puppy Chow was the closest thing to Eukanuba. She also said that she would send me his shot records. The terrible thing about this whole situation is the fact that this little puppy was VERY ILL and in no shape to have been able to fly. I picked him up for the first time and under all the shedding hair of his coat was this very frail skeleton on bones that made up his tiny frame. He literally did not have any muscle on his bones. To make a long story short, he had to see a vet Doctor 8 times in the first month that I had him with many meds. to get him well as he had three infections and a nasty hacking cough/vomiting. An x-ray had to done as well to see if there was anything inside going on because he was so ill. His first visit to vet hospital was only 19 hours after I recieved him. Even after giving this little one nutrical many times... his blood sugar was only at 34 when normal levels should be between 300-400. His Vet Doctor was amazed at the state the little puppy was in and couldn't believe that he was shipped. When I talked to the breeder about his condition and what the vet Doctor said, she basically said that she had no idea that he was in that shape and she wouldn't have sent him if her vet would have told her he was ill. MY OPINION: ANYONE BREEDER WOULD HAVE KNOWN JUST BY PICKING HIM UP AND FEELING NOTHING BUT BONES!!! She said that if she was rich she would help pay for my vet bills for him, but she is not rich and unable to do so. I finally got his records in the mail a month after I recieved him and it was written on a recipe card with no dates as to when she gave his vaccinations and she did not add the stickers off the vaccination bottles to confirm that he actually had them done. I am angry and I feel she should be responsible for the puppies vet bills. PLEASE BEWARE OF BAD PUPPY MILL/BREEDERS!!! The photos are of the records she sent and I find it funny that he was given Nemex at 8wks which was April 2nd and Panacur April 2nd as well. Other photo is my little puppy now that he is BETTER and in my care... last photo with him on pink blanket is when he was sick and he was bones under his coat..
