lying about mileage on vehicule
In July/August we went Smithtown Nissan to lease an '06 Armada. After being told they can get us the vehicule we wanted, we then settled for the one in the showroom. After all paper work was filled out and signed, I start the truck to pull away and the truck had 7, 500 miles on it. I brought this to their attention and they said they already told us that. But then why did the paper work read 8 miles.

Worst Nissan Dealer - Smithtown Nissan
Hello,
Please take my word, this is the worst dealer to deal with. They are number one crooks. The biggest crook is the Finance Manager, Mohammad Hussein (Mo). He slaps Extended Warranty on every car that he sells without telling the buyer. I bought an Altima from him. The sales dept had promised a out of door price of 19.7k. The finance guy did not give me any time when signing the papers.. They have a small section in the corner of the invoice which has details about this warranty. No average person will spot that section easily. That f***** slapped a $2000 warranty on the car and got it signed from me. They also said that I had to take the insurance from them as we could not take car out of the showroom without their warranty. I was giving the insurance at the rate of $1200 for 6 months. When I called Geico, I got the same insurance for $399 !!!
When I asked him to cancel the insurance they were not ready to do it.
I had to literally fight and shout in the showroom for 2 hours to get the insurance and the warranty canceled. When I started shouting after losing patience after about 1.5 hours, they very easily tore the invoice and made a new invoice. I also told them that I will call the Cops and let them handle this if they dont give me my money back. I was actually gonna call the cops when they made a new invoice with the reduced cost. My cost of the car reduced by $2200. I still havent got the insurance back. But I guess they have now realized that I am not going to compromise so they have again asked me to come to the showroom. I am already prepared to fight with them again. I have never had such an hectic deal ever in my life!
Please go and buy a car from anywhere else but dont buy it from here. I request you to not get yourself into trouble by buying a car from here.

THEY LIED AND SCAMMED ME
Be warned Smithtown Nissan are crooks and carry out deceptive and fraudulent practices.
I went to Smithtown of Nissan on 07/12/09. It was one of the most terrible days of my life and the biggest mistake that I could have made. My husband and I walked in just as the dealership was about to close on a Sunday evening. We were approached by a sales rep Charles Murray. He lied to us from the beginning stating that the white Nissan Maxima that I wanted was the only one that they had in stock and if I didn't get it I wouldn't be able to find it again. He walked back and forth in and out of the office negotiating with the manager good deal for us. I was not at that point ready to buy a car and I told Charles I needed to think about it. This was the first time that I was going to a dealership so I don't have the experience of buying a car from a dealership.
Mr. Charles said to me if you want you can take the car home and see if you like if you don't you can bring it back. I being naive fell for this lie signed all the paper work and left with the car that night. I got home looked at the financial situation and then decided that night I was not going to keep the car. I called Smithtown Nissan as soon as they were opened the very next day and asked to speak to one the managers. I left a message for Ray who was one of the managers as no one wanted to pick up my call as Charles was not in. I kept calling as it was less than 24hrs since I left the dealership. I finally got Joe Gumban at 2:30 who told us that once we walk out we can't get our money back and we are new car owners. I freaked out as nowhere in our conversation the night before were we told by Charles Murray that we couldn't return the car. Charles kept saying that he would take care of us don’t worry trust him. He told us we could and that he was helping us out. I was so upset as I felt that I was deceived and lied to and I was honest with them and told them I don't have any experience with a dealership and I was not ready to get the car that night.
Charles made it seem that we could have the car and see if we liked it while they held our money and paper work. Well they never held our money charged everything through my credit card and the paper work that they said that they were keeping aside they said that they had FedEx it to Nissan already as sold and it was out of their hands when I called them the next day. How could they be so deceptive and carry out such fraudulent practices. I was sick to my stomach I couldn't sleep that night. I realized that we were misled none of our initial questions were answered about the maintenance agreement. They gave us nothing and brushed of with we’ll take care of everything and in the end gave us nothing and took our money. They are rip offs. Something needs to be done about their business practices. I asked to speak to another manager since Ray never called me back. I spoke to Brain who was so rude and obnoxious and made hurtful remarks are criminal and disgraceful. He said that no one held a gun to my head to sign those papers and I shouldn't have taken the car if I didn't want it. I told him that I trusted them and their word to hold everything and they lied to me.
My financial situation is not good and most likely my credit will be ruined. I'm so upset that they did this to me. These people have no conscience as to how they ruined people's lives. They are unscrupulous and they help each other con people and take their money. I trusted them and though that they were professional and would keep everything on the side until I told them the next day that I was or was not going to take the car. They said I knew exactly what I was doing and they are not looking out for my interest but their own. I hope that no one ever use them as they say whatever they need to say and pressure and force you. Don't sign anything or give them your credit card. If anyone knows what I could do please let me know my email is [email protected]. I think everyone who had a bad experience and have been cheated at Smithtown Nissan should come together and report them to the authorities. There was a police officer I read who they finally refunded him he said that they are reported to the Attorney General for scamming people.
Again my email is [email protected].

Terrible experience
Smithown Nissan is the lowest of the low of all the car dealers, please don't go there for a car. We bought a used car in 8/05, a Nissan Altima, and didn't want the extended Warranty but the Finance guy said we would be able to get our money back if we didn't use the warranty. He slipped in a charge for it on my invoice for $140.00 in addition to the $999.00.
After our warranty was up we discovered not only did they lie about the refund, but that they back dated the policy to 2003 so we only had a warranty for less than 1 year. The warranty company was in disbelief they could do this to us, and she said that we should of gotten the policy for 999 without having to pay the 140 extra. That it's a no charge thing and that the dealer is to pay for it.
After calling them on and off for two months now, we realized that they are just ducking and weaving us, to frustrate us to the point that we just go away and forget about it. I reminded him, we have all this in writing on our invoice, the warranty and the 140 extra which says extended warranty refund, but they don't seem to care, he passed me down to his supervisor, which said he would look into the deal and get back to me, and since then has not called, or come to the phone when I call.
They also charged us 360.00 dollars for etch on windshield which we never asked for and when we confronted them about it, the Manager said don't worry we will also get that money back also. This sadly is not the last time that someone like me gets taken advantage of, but I will not buy a car without first doing a full research on the business I am dealing with. Nissan should also be informed about this dealership and they're practices.

Dishonest contract negotiation/over charging what we agreed to
On July 17, my husband went shopping for our new car. We knew we would we lease. We wanted to downsize due to gas expenses. He went to Toyota tp try to get a Hygrid, but the prices were just too high. We wanted to put down no more than $1000.00 out of pocket and keep our lease prices below $400.00. We were turning over a Nissan lease so he went to Nissan. He went to Smithtwon Nissan first and worked with Brian Vasak the sales rep. Brian told my husband that he had only worked there for three weeks so he called in the manager Ray pretty quickly.
My husband was negotiating with Ray "Freida" and he had to do a lot of phone calling back and forth to me as I could not be there. It went on for some time and they were putting "deals" together and switching cars, "We can get you in this car...for $2300 "or numbers close to that. I told my husband to leave, we knew that we could not afford what they were offering and that was that. Then Ray asked my husband what it would take to not have to call me again and my husband said $1000.00 down and no more and less than $400.00 per month. They were able to work that out on a Nissan Pathfinder LE with some GPS and a DVD thrwon in. My husband called me and even though it was a gas guzzler, we knew this was a good deal so we agreed that he should stay and finish the deal.
Then comes Stan who is a fast speaker and since I have met him, I see that he rarely looks you in the eye. He never verbalized a LONG list of fees with my husband and as I gave my husband a credit card number from a credit that he did not have with him, he gave the number to Stan on a hand written piece of paper. Stan charged the card but never verbalized the LONG list of fees and never showed my husband the credit card receipt.
When we got our CitiBank statement, we were FLOORED to find out they charged 5697.14 on our card!! We Immediately called them but Bran said it was a Sunday and the managers were too busy to get back to us. I screamed that I had better get a ohone call back, but we never did and we called them 30 minutes later and were assured that they were going to "pull the file" on Monday. My husband went to Smithtwon Nissan on Monday and Ray said that Stan was not there and that he should come back on Tuesday. On Tuesday, both my husband and I went to talk to them and we met with Stan who assured us that if a mistake had been made, he would gladly fix it but it "Company Policy" that all three parties had to be together to review it, could we come back tomorrow. We pushed but there seemed to be no way to get a resolution so we camed back on Wednesay at 12:00 PM at the agreed upon time.
That was when Stan told us he reveiwed the folder (no one else was called in) and he said the bottome line is that they had a signed lease agreement. We explained that we would have NEVER!!! signed ther agreement if we knew that we were spending $5697.14 Not only do we not have that money, but it is more than we have ever paid for any lease and this would be our third NIssan Pathfinder lease and our fifth time leasing an SUV. We implored them to be honest and to admit they never reviewed the contract with my husband. Ray came in and said he remembered the sale but they were already at a loss of 2300, 1300 (the number changed..they had incentive money...
We explained that my husband had been there for hours and that they INSISTED he take the car right then and there even though he said he had no trouble coming back the next day. They pushed so hard that they had Brian drive our Honda home so my husband could drive the new Nissan off of the lot that day. Ray later mentioned how "accomodating" nthey were by doing that, but now it is clear that forcing you to take cars in a rush is there way of sealing a dishonest deal.
Theya re scam artists who have left us severe;y in debt because the charge we did not agree to put our card over the limit and changed our interest rate from 3.99 to 18.99. We NEVER WOULD HAVE AGREED TO MORE THAN 1, 000.00. That is what we knew we could afford.
Ray and Stan are dishonest scam artists that do not care about anybody. No one should ever shop there. We are filing a Police Report against them, we are filing a complaint with BBB, Andrew Cuomo's office and with our credit card company. I will also be contacting the CEO of Nissan NA and trying to implore that he refund our money. He can have the car back. We don't want it anymore anyway. We will NEVER buy another Nissan again.
