I signed a seasonal campsite agreement in May 2011 and paid through the end of September to have a R.V. parked at Smokey Hollow Campgrounds Lodi Wisconsin. The first site I was allowed to place my 30’ fifth wheel R.V. was small and unbeknown to me, the campground was allowing parking all around my campsite, parking in the grass surrounding my campsite and in addition the campground placed its tractor buckets on one corner of my site.
I complained about the parking and tractor parts and eventually no parking signs were put up on part of the camp site and they removed the tractor buckets. When another site came open, I requested to be allowed to move to the other site. I moved to the new site on July 1st, 2011, however, at a complete surprise and shock to me, on July 12th, 2011, I was approached by Bud Styer at my campsite and was told he was kicking me out of the campground. Bud Styer is the Owner of Smokey Hollow Campground has requested I leave the campground, stating that the campground is a family friendly campground and I don’t fit in, apparently because I’m single. In addition, Bud Styer stated: He complained I didn’t level my camper quickly enough after moving to the new site. No written notice given.
He complained I had soda cans on the ground at my campsite. (No written notice given)
My camper was not cleaned to his satisfaction (even though, I pointed out the camper across the street from mine had pine needles coming out of the campers awning) No written notice given.
He complained that I drive too fast through the campsite. Notified by email, and I now drive very slowly. Complained he had to have the grass cut twice at the last site. No written notice given and in addition, he didn’t charge me for cutting the grass, as the seasonal campsite agreement states he could have done. I do not and have not had any parties
I do not disturb the other campers
I do not play my music loud
I’m not late with any site rent payments, all paid through the end of September.
I initially agreed to leave as requested, and Bud Styer wrote up an agreement for me to sign. While he was writing up the agreement, I decided to consult with an attorney before signing, and when he returned to the camper with the agreement, I advised him I was not signing it and was going to consult with an attorney, and his reply was “excuse me” with the attitude of “how dare you challenge me”. Anyway, it’s July 16th, 2011 and I haven’t heard back from him. So, time will tell on how this proceeds.
