My husband became so ill with food poisoning at the Paradisus Varadero that he spent weeks in the hospital upon his return. He became ill on the second day of our trip, and left our room only twice after that, to visit the doctor, who told him to go lay down. He lost 10 pounds in a week and the hotel would not offer him room service or any other appropriate accommodation. Upon our return, I wrote to the chain asking for another stay at one of their resort, but they refused ownsership of this incident. I am so upset and frustrated that I saved for a year to stay at a 5+ star to become severely ill and be treated like garbage. I am making it my mission to make sure people know about this resort and to persuade all to look somewhere else to stay.
