SolarTek International Reviews

Disgruntled mr. Dobson March 23, 2011
Scammed me out of $6150 for junk
My wife and I purchased an energy efficient home package from SolarTEK international based out of Evansville, Indiana. I was told that these products would reduce my electricity and gas consumption by 45% which sounded like a great idea. When I saw the price of the package I was reluctant to sign up at that moment but we were told if we didn't the price would be much higher and he gave us a number of reasons for that. Anyway, long story short I bought for over $6000.00 and they insisted to install it that day. My wife as I weren't doing anything that day sp we agreed. I shouldve slept on it because I made a regretful decision. My son called the next evening and I told him of our purchase. He did some research and called me back with bad news that this company is a scam and to get my money back. So I called and because it was installed they refused to cancel the deal. First of all, these products can be bought without installation for a nickel per square foot and they sell it installed for two dollars per. That's a ripoff. The other product, an electricity box can be bought for $150 and I paid nearly $2000 for it. They won't return my calls and have basically stolen my money. Pass on doing businesss with this crew of scammers and save yourself the problems. They are bad bad people.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM
This company sends out mail to only older people in their 60's, 70's and 80's to take advantage of retired folks because the younger generation is more internet savy and will catch onto their scamming ways. They sell material that can be bought for .05 per square foot and make the salesmen sell it for upwards of $2 per sqaure foot from what I unfortunately found out after making a purchase. The dinner I went to was full of fellow elders that were just lied to. The box that they install on the breaker box doesn't work. I had mine taken apart and it doesn't have any of the capabilities I was told it had. When I called to complain and try to get my money back I was told that I have a 5 year guarantee but it says that anytime within that time if I wasn't satisfied I would be able to get UP TO a full refund which is a bunch of garbage. These guys should be held accountable for their lies and bad business practices. I have sense found out alot of information from the salesmen who sold me the equipment about the company which makes me think Im stuck. He was getting the heat off of him is the only reason I can think of that he told me all of the dirt on these dirtbags. Walk away from the not only the company but the invite to their "FREE DINNER" and call your local authorities to see if they have the proper documentation to even be in the town doing any work. I guarantee you that 9 out of 10 times they will not even know about the company more less have a permit or license to do business in the town or county. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!

Scamming
I went a dinner and invited some guy out to my home. I bought an energy package to try and save me money off of my bills. Everything sounded great but now that we are down the road nothing has come to fruition. I am losing money in this deal and get no one to return my calls. These guys are bad news and I wish I could go back and never go do business with them. Once you pay them they are gone.

Rip Off
I recently went to a dinner hosted by this company. I received a card that stated I could save money on my utility bills. It sounded to good to be true and boy was I right. The products that they are selling can be found online at a fraction of the cost they are selling them at. They claim you are part of a advertising special and if you buy now you can save money. The salesperson was pushy and rude after I told him I needed to think about it. Do yourself a favor. Stay away from this company and their method of selling.

Scam artists and thieves
SolarTek International is made up of a bunch of traveling scam artists.
They set up dinners and invite retirees and show them their products. Their products look great at the presentation. Then they come to your home and push you into purchasing their products. They make statements about the savings that you will achieve with their products. I believe that I am saving a little bit of money but no where near what they stated to me.
I did some checking with the contractors board here in California and found out that the electrical device that they installed on my house needed to be installed by a licensed Electrical contractor. Well...They do not have any licence in California, then I did some further checking and they also do not have a license in any state.
I have reported them to the state of California and they are going to investigate them.
I also called the finance company that financed my purchase and advised them about the lack of licensure.
This company offers a money back guarantee but does not stand behind it.
When I was installed it took almost three weeks to install my product. This took place over 4 separate days. The installer is the son of the salesperson that sold me and was extreemely unprofessional.

Bottom line, Do not do any business with these people and if you already have, call their main office and demand your money back.

Thank you for reading.
