poor food
eThis is one of many complaints I have with the Early Sonic Drive In. This time I ordered a chili cheese coney with mustard. As soon as she took my order a girl was walking out with my order. Of course the bun was hard as a rock and the cheese had been on so long it looked like plastic. Mustard was squirted all over the top. The coney was obviously old. This is not the first time nor the second or third time. I have tried to call to make a complaint and the phone has been busy for over 45 minutes. I did call the Brownwood location on Commerce and made a complaint with Donna. We will see if any thing changes. I love Sonic food and will continue to visit the 2 locations in Brownwood, but don't care to go to the Early location any more. That is a sad thing too. I am not the only one. We have over 30 employees and word does get around.

No Tips and Disgruntled Customers
I have been a car hop since March. What customers do NOT realize is that the car hop is not always the one who takes your order nor is the one who ever cooks your food and is rarely the one who makes your drinks and icecream treats. We work for minimum wage and put up with sometimes intolerable behavior from customers and employees and bosses only to car hop to someone who doesnt care or want to tip even for a friendly face. Many times, I have car hopped someone who was ticked off because their order wasnt right and I didnt make it. But I am out there scrounging for tips and I go to every car with a friendly face. But it gets so frustrating after going to ten cars that dont tip and one out of every 10 that do.
We walk all day with no break 8-10 hours a day and one to two bathroom breaks. We dont get to sit down cause there is no where to sit, no break room. And we work for tips we dont get because you get mad at the cooks. Place the blame where it belongs. Ask for a manager and have it corrected but dont blame the innocent car hops that are trying to make a living.
And I am sorry but if you cant afford to tip even 50 cents please dont come waste our time because if you cant afford to tip at least 50 cents then you cant afford to eat out in the first place. Ever wonder why sonic carhops are so skinny...get a clue if you dont.
Are you MAD? GOOD. Imagine how we feel having car hopped all day. 100 customers and only making a whopping 10 - 20 dollars and nothing more. Walk a mile in our shoes and then you have something to complain about. You are placing blame in the wrong place. And shame on you regular customers that get that extra shot of strawberries or vanilla and dont even bother to tip a dime. Cause I give it to you and you still tip nothing. May you gain an extra 40 lbs and never be able to get it off because you have no clue the calories you are ordering in your purchase. GOOGLE IT. Sonic is the only fast food restaurant that has NO light, less calories menu. Google the calories. You deserve all those calories for NOT tipping us poor carhops that DONT mess up your orders but smile and keep taking it from you and go home empty handed.

bad food
The Sonic in Caruthersville, MO badly needs to change their grease. I keep going back because it's ok sometimes, but more times than not, the food tastes rancid because it's fried in old, disgusting grease. I guess they're either lazy or cheap. But, I'm never going back.

poor service nasty workers
We visited the local Sonice tonite to order 3 simple things; a oreo blizzard, a banana split and a dish of vanilla icecream. there were 4 other cars there when we pulled in.
We waited foR 20 min for the order. IN THE MEAN TIME ONE OF THE EMPLOYERS CAME IN PICKING AT HIS FACE AND EAR WHILE HE ALSO HAD A RAG DABBING BLOOD FROM HIS HAND!!!(WE WERE TOLD HE WAS OFF THE CLOCK) SO WHAT GROSS!!! THEN WHILE WE WAIT 4 OR 5 OTHER PEOPLE WERE DELIVERED THEIR ORDER, WHICH WAS THINGS THAT HAD TO BE COOKED!! WE OEDERED ICE CREAM, WE CALLED THE COOK AND TOLD THEM TO CANCEL THE ORDER BECAUSE WE HAD BEEN WAITING SO LONG, AS SOON AS WE DID THIS, THEY CAME OUT WITH THE ORDER.
NEEDLESS TO SAY AFTER SEEING THE NASTY EMPLOYER PICKING HIS FACE AND DABBING BLOOD FROM HIMSELF WE DID NOT WANT THE FOOD!! SO BE CAREFUL OF SONIC 1!!!

smoothies--not consistent content
ordered smoothie...it came and was some fruity slush...I complained and the response was "oh, we don't make our smoothie's here with yogurt"...well, I wanted to tell her to take it off the menu board as containing yogurt...just lost $3.00 in the process...was so angry I wouldn't take a refund due to snotty response from employee

Poor Service
I called the hotline for Sonic just a month ago, because since they changed management or ownership of the one in Homer, the service has been horrible. I along with others have orderd food and it is never correct. All I got from Sonic complaint is a card for a free burger. Who wants to use it, they wouldn't get it right anyway. Tuesday morning I went back, thinking okay another chance. I was the only customer at the time of the order. I ordered a bacon, egg, cheese breakfast burrito. Got my order and handed the carhop $20. and what ever change it was. She only gave me $6.00 back and I had to correct it should be $16.00. She gave that to me. I then went to work. Got to my office and bit into the burrito. Guess what it was a Sausage, Egg, Cheese. I don't like sausage. They can't even get it right with only one customer. Someone needs to do something. This is sad. It is one of a few places to eat in Homer and it is like the company does not even care.

Bad food
Ordered 2 BLT toaster sandwiches at sonic on thru 07/17/08 in okc at 8:00 am and requested no tomatoes on one. Took them to my daughter at work to eat, the bread was mashed flat on both, extremely soggy on both, bacon was nasty flavored and no tomatoes on either one. these were the worst breakfast sandwiches. Sonic should be ashamed to sell food in this condition. will never order this again. Bought a diet vanilla coke also and no flavoring, just flat... management at this sonic store needs to be advised...

Short change
This place as well as the Sonic in Peoria continually short change you. Today I was short changed a dollar. Other times it's change under a dollar. If you hand them a $5 for example and the bill is $4.28 they will say they have to get change and don't come back or they hope you say don't worry about it.
This is a common problem amongst most Sonics. They hire these kids and tell them to expect a lot of tips and if the hire help doesn't get the tips they want they help themselves. If this happens again I will stop going there all together.

bad service - bad food
takes 20min to get a drink, five employees standing around talking, only 2customers at the place . give you food that has set under the warmer. dips onionring s back in the grease to rewarm, hamburger, , , , not sure what the problem is with them, but cold and soggy, thought i would try them again, i live down the street, but i will go some where else from now on . they were great for about the first year, , after that on a grade level, , , i would give them a d-.

Charged twice
I ordered and PAID with a gift card (not Sonics) but when my order was brought I was told they just needed to see my card and no additional charges would be made (dumb i know). When I checked my card the next day i saw two charges from Sonics... my original and another LARGER price. I called corporate and filed a report and told someone would follow up with me. That was LAST MONTH!!! I called back after about a week and my contact info was confirmed and I was told they were sorry and someone would get back with me. Didn't happen.
I called back the FOLLOWING week again! Same thing... confirm my contact info and said sorry someone would get back with me. I told them I would be filing with the BBB and would contact the local one myself to see if it would help expedite things. The manager wanted to know if I had the copies of the two original receipts. I told him no I didn't keep my first receipt and if I had received a second receipt I would have resolved it then. I told him I could provide a copy of my statement showing the two DIFFERENT charges on the same day and location, etc. I took time out of my day and drove over there to turn it in and was told he would match my statement to the customer receipts from that day and would get back with me. Again didn't happen.
Contacted the local Sonic drive in where the overcharging took place today and spoke to the manager again. He stated they had no RECORD of the two charges being made on that date. I interpreted that to mean I was being called a LIAR. He said he called Treasury and that he would let me know what they found out. I then proceeded to call Corporate again and tell them I wanted this resolved by this Wednesday seeing as it had been a MONTH already and nothing has been resolved!!!
If it a $1 or 2 I wouldn't make a big deal about it. But it wasn’t!!! Plus the treatment I have received since then have just made me more upset over this whole issue which is why I want it resolved along with an APOLOGY at this point.
