Sony - Horrible Customer Service
Back in November (on Black Friday) I purchased a Sony Bravia television for my Husband for Christmas. We were so excited since we had been using a little 25” box television that was really hard to see anything on. Needless to say, we were so happy to finally have a nice television. We noticed that the television had a pixel that was out in the middle of the screen. This was just the next day or so after we got the television. We are sure it was there from the beginning. So, doing what I thought was best, I contacted Sony's service department to get it fixed. They gave me the name of the local repair company that I needed to call to get it fixed. So, I called them. They came out and looked at the television and determined that the panel needed to be replaced. So they ordered the part and came back to fix my television. They had my television taken apart before they realized Sony had sent the wrong panel! They were very embarrassed. I, on the other hand, was very upset that Sony had made this mistake. So, they tried to order the right panel to be sent. Sony then informed us that the part was now on backorder! I wasn’t very happy with this and called and talked to the Customer Relations department about it. They were fairly nice at this point and sent me a $200 GC for compensation for my troubles. That was very nice of them. After waiting for a month, we were then informed that the panel wouldn’t be available until the middle of March. Crazy, but okay. When I didn’t hear anything by the end of March, I called again. Now to find out that the part was now discontinued and we couldn’t get it anymore! By this time I was getting very upset at Sony for the mistakes and craziness they were putting me through. I was told that the only thing they could do for me was send me a refurbished television. I was very upset about this since my television was brand new and I had yet to have it be perfect. I just wanted my television to be either fixed or a new one to replace it. I didn’t feel like this was a horrible request. I tried for two weeks for someone to try and help me get this right. They kept assuring me that the refurbished television would be like new. They test them to make sure they work great and there wouldn’t be a dent or scratch on it. I finally said fine, send me the refurbished television. When it finally arrived, yesterday, I thought we were finally done with this fiasco. The delivery company that brought the television was really nice and courteous. They set up the television for me and took my old one away. Then the craziness started again. The refurbished television didn’t work at all!!! I called Sony's service center again and they told me to call the repair company again. So, I did. They remembered me from before and have always been very helpful and kind. They rushed out to look at the television for me. It needs a new mainboard! I am so frustrated! Now we don’t even have a television at all! My poor kids keep asking to watch movies and play the wii and I can’t let them do anything! I called and talked to the customer relations department again and they were so rude. They didn’t even try to make things right with me. They just kept telling me they could only send me another refurbished television. I DON”T WANT ANOTHER REFURBISHED TELEVISION! I just wanted them to fix my old television back in November!!! I am so frustrated. I don’t understand why nobody is trying to make this right with me. Sony keeps making all the mistakes, not me, not the repair company...it’s all SONY!! I am very upset. I am to the point that I wish I had never purchased a SONY television in the first place.
