My wife bought a SE W810i "flip" phone to use on her Orange contract. After 6 months the hing of the phone showed a fine crack which gradually worsened. This crack wasn't horizontal on the flip hinge but vertical down the middle. The phone had been used under normal use and had not been forced/dropped etc so sent into Sony Ericsson's Service Centre for warranty repair. AFter almost two weeks we recieved a repair bill for the LCD of nearly £50 stating it was not covered under warranty. I rang and queried this but the only answer was that the LCD needed replacing which I had to pay for. I explained this wasn't a fault when the phone was sent so I was told I'd be rang back within 3 working days. After 6 days I was told the hinge was covered but as it could onbly be replaced along with the LCD, I had to pay for that. I refused saying if this was not my responsibility if the hinge had failed. After more checking I was told the hinge would not be covered so pay the £50. I was told if I didn't agree the LCD was damaged they would send photos and I could claim through the post office if I "hadn't sent it with a damaged LCD". I recieved no photos but a call saying the LCD had to be replaced with the hinge and the hinge wasn't a manufacturing fault. I queired why, as the phone hadn't been mishandled and failed through normal use. I asked them to clarify that 7 months was an expected life of their product (they refused) and for them to provide details of how the fault had deveopled as there were no marks/scratches and the hinge had failed in the middle. They said it would be rechecked and I was to be contacted with 3-5 w/d with the result. One the 8th working day I had a message left stating the LCD had to be replaced and I had to pay with no answers I had been promised. The company is a joke and I will not buy their products again and make sure everyone I know is aware.

Bluetooth Functionality
Sony Ericsson X1 has several design defects. The most notable is the fact that the Bluetooth switches off automatically in order to save power. You cannot configure it NOT to do it! Therefore, if someone needs to use the phone frequently on hands free using bluetooth, forget it, now and then the bluetooth will swith off and one cannot any longer use the phone hands free. I contacted Sony Ericsson via email and then followed up with a call. Their uninterested response was the same: "It's a design feature for the customers' benefit". Who the hell do they think they are to impose such stupid features on customers? Why don't they allow the customer decide whether he/she wants to use the feature or not? They were very unsupportive on the phone and even insisted that I, the customer have no idea what I am talking about!! I have used many phones in the past, including Windows Mobile based phones, but this is the worst phone I ever had and although I have only had it for a month I will replace it immediately!

sony ericsson promo
Even I too received same message to my cell. My option was Diplomatic Consignment Delivery and I was supposed to pay deliver charges. As soon as they arrived India, they called us and asked to pay 2lacs as tax in addition to the delivery charges. They asked us to deposit this money in their account. Please let me know how far it is true...

Some body is doing in the name of sony ericsson company. Sony Ericssion Comapny has to take care of this...

Poor customer service
I bought a K530i 2 months back. It used get off on its own suddenly. I gave the phone to the service centre for four times for the same issue. Fourth time I asked them for a replacement for that phone as in 2 months I gave the phone four times to repair for the same issue. They kept the phone with them only for almost a month and gave me the same phone back. I was told that I am not getting any replacement you can take the phone or leave it. They said that they repaired it I informed them that its the fourth time I have given the phone for the same issue they said that we have fixed it, I asked them what if I face the same issue again they shamelessly answered that I can give the phone back to serviice station. Could you'll please help me on this...

No Available Parts

I agree..

And they don' advise that there is no parts yet. You would be left hanging with no idea. Useless you follow up. My phone have been with them for two weeks now.

VERY POOR AFTER SALES SERVICE.

Z555 No Parts Available
Dear All,

I want to let you know and warn you not to buy Sony Ericsson Cellphones. I had bad experience with Sony Ericsson Service center. I submitted my Z555 to Solution technologies the service center of SEMICON for warranty claim because the LCD display is not functioning normally. But they told me that my unit will not be fixed yet because they don't have available parts related to the problem. I waited for more than a month still defective part not yet replaced. What the HELL is happening with your F/$%$#@@$#$g company why you don't have available parts. If that's the case that their company have no parts then why did they sell the FU%^&*$#@@%%%$g model unit. They think the customer will wait until unit is repaired and will endure for a long time? HELL NO!

SO EVERYBODY DON'T BUY SONY ERICCSON. I'm sure Sony Ericsson Philippines will have a decline in sales. So to Sony Ericsson Company byebye in advance coz you are going down.

Faulty keypad
It was my mistake that i bought w580i mobile handset of Sony Ericsson. I have already replaced its keypad twice and now its again get cracked. I don't know what should i do now... I bought the mobile from Delhi but now i am in Pune so please reply me the address of any Sony Ericsson Service Center here as i didn't find any.
