THEY WILL NOT FIX A BROKEN PHONE WITHOUT A COST
I BOUGHT A SONY ERICSSON W580I AN THE LEFT 'OK' KEY CAME OFF SO I SENT IT BACK AN I GOT A £47 BILL BECAUSE OF A KEY AN THE PHONE IS STILL IN WARRANTY.

HORRIBLE CELL PHONES FROM SONY ERICSSON
I have purchased one W550i handset in the month of may 2007.Right from day one of the purchase, i faced a number of problems with the set , the major being the hanging of the set while attempting to make a call or sending a sms.I have taken my handset for repair to SALORA INTERNATIONAL ,OKHLA,DELHI numerous times and they have alleged to change the circuit of my handset two times , then also the problem persists.The cell goes off and then the display goes white and the cell hangs up.On my last visit to the SALORA INTERNATIONAL on 27 NOV,2007 , the circuit was changed again and new IMEI number was given(357444003641783) to me.The complaint ID of the last complaint is SES07BR243025.
Just in a span of 20 days , the cell has hung up again.I am so fed up of SONNY ERICSSON now that i will not recoommend the sony hand sets to any body.The engineers at the SALORA INTERNATIONAL are good for nothing , everytime they assure me that my mobile will be repaired fully but again in 20 days the cell hangs up.
Is this the INTERNATIONAL STANDARD maintained by the largest mobile manufacturer in the world ? I am planning to go in court of law or in the consumers court against sony ericsson and i will take you to the consumer court and i want a refund of the cost that i have paid for this mobile or a new handset again.
I am fed up of the service that i have been provided but with futile results and now its in the hands of SONY ERICSSON to redeem my cost or be dragged to court . in my view SONY ERICSSON must withdraw the service approval of SALORA INTERNATIONAL OKHLA... because i havn't seen so incompetent engineer or so irresponsible service centre.now its SONY ERICSSON wish how to refund me for set or give me new handset.Initially I was using NOKIA cell phones for more than 4 years which never gave complaint to me. Is this really the standard of great SONY ERICSSON.

Mobile Repair
I purchased SE W300i on October 20, 2006. It ran well for almost a year, but when I tried to turn the handset on the on September 30, 2007, it did not start. It screen was turning white and black.
I took the handset to the SE company repair center at Ripon Street, Calcutta. They book the handset giving me the memory card back and asked me to collect it in 3 days. No temporary mobile was given to me. My work/ job number was E32WK031007-08. When I called (033-22277895) them on Oct 6, 2007 they told me that it would take a few days more and I should call them back later to check its status.
I have been keeping "checking status" since then.
The behavior of the service center people is really disappointing. There is some APARAJITA who hangs up the call at the middle of discussion. Sometimes they keep me on hold for almost 4-5 minutes. Sometimes they refer me to TANIA MITRA/ MOITRA, who is supposed to be handling my case, but unfortunately she is never "AT HER SEAT". Sometimes they ask me to call a different number, but none receives those calls.
When I deposited the phone at the service center, it was under warranty period - but it is not anymore. Though they have confirmed that I would not have to pay for the repair since it was "deposited" in warranty period, I seriously doubt their honesty. I will be absolutely helpless if they charge me some huge amount.
I am a student and it is not possible for me to travel to the repair center every now and then. Needless to mention that I am depending on my friends' telephones. W300i took all my savings for years and it is impossible to buy a new phone. There is also possibility of having the same problem with a new phone anyway.

handset problem
My handset battery is not working proper and sound is not good.camera is not working in one click.and the joystick of handset is not working.

repaired three time in three month
resepected sir/ madam,

i paresh chouhan using th sony ercisson phone model W810 i bought in the month of aug2007 . i have reapaire th this phone for 3 times..and then also my phone is in same condition...not reapired..

Since i am the only son of my father i need phone. but beacuse of your phone my phone is with you for most of the time in ur service staion.. i need phone beacuse my grand father is in hospital..and i have to be with him all the time..u kown how diffcult it is..sorry how would you realize becaus you are not in that situation. For people like you the cell phone costing 12,000. would be peanuts, not for me..

what to tell about the service station they take years to slove simple problem.. and in return they give u a nos to call and then come to collect your cellphone.,,but the fact is the nos does not work (note: service sation in borivali in mumbai in INDIA)

i would again and again write letter untill my query is sloved.. The biggest mistake i did was buying cellphone of yours.. my firend and collegue said that buy nokia but i ended buying sony..watever i swear the image of your`s company has been ruined in my eyes..i would never ever buy yours product nor would recomend anyone....Your product is wrose than china product..because they don`t give you hope taht your buying the best quality goods so u don`t hope anything...but in yopur case is diffrent stupid people like me hope that they are buying the best goods..

Ill treatment
I had purchased a Sony Ericsson on Oct 2006, It is still within the warranty period. I had gone to the Sony Ericsson service centre in ACCEL (Greams Road, Chennai, TAMILNADU/INDIA) because my mobile was not getting switched on.

The technician whose name is Giri had no courtesy, his manners is absolutely rude and simply rejected saying that my phone had some liquid spilled on it. I asked him to show where, so he had opened the phone to display some rust and says Ericsson will not service unless i pay Rs300. I told him I would like to talk to his manager. The manager's name is Surayanarayanan and that fellow had gone some where else, looks like personnel work to me.

I had waited some time to see if he returned back, with no luck i had left.

These fellows Giri and Suranayaran are ruining the brand name in Chennai. I also found out that I was not the only person who's phone had been rejected, a couple of other customer's were cribbing about the service these fellows were offering. My phone is still within the warranty period and no body from Ericsson gives a damn. I think I will never ever buy another Sony Ericsson in Chennai and I would always advise my friends to refrain from buying the same.

These Sony Ericsson service fellows don’t even know to treat their customer with respect.

Pathetic management
Well i don’t know how to start, as am really irritated & frustrated, with the attitude & customer service & support of Sony Ericsson India, being a customer, i have purchased your handset W810i in last year on 15/04/06 the ime no is 359061000173426, when it costed around 20000/- Rs and now one find day something happened to my phone refused to start and i took it to a local guy he opened it in from of me and told me straight go to a Authorized service center, taking the advise i did the same and sent my office boy to your Sony Ericsson certified service centre, SAP MOBILE CENTRE at Prabhadevi Mumbai, on 01/09/2007 at 2:42 pm they gave me job sheet and told me they will let me know.

1 week passed I called to check about my phone , they said we will call you , then again after two days , sir we are trying to identify the problem and we shall call you , then after another 3to 4 days I call again sir we are still checking and will let you know once we know the problem, and we shall call your for the estimate. then again after a week , I called again , till date no one from your certified service center bothered to call, then when I called they told me after trying to find out what’s wrong with my phone they somehow told me that there is a problem with my phone and when i asked what is the problem they said that my phone is tampered and the mother board is faulty and seems like it is due to some water entering in your phone.

When I enquired about the repairing cost they said 11,000/- Rs that too not being sure, then I said allright called the Sony ericsson customer service and told my problem they took all the details about my job no, my phone no and other details and then instructed me not to pick up the phone from the service center and they will call me and sort things out, after which I was waiting for phone call from customer service which was in vain, then I again called , and then the same thing sir I will have someone call you from our end , then it was the height, till date I haven’t received any phone call then.

When I called the service center they said that my phone cant be repaired you come and collect it and take it to our Head office at lamington road as we don’t have facilities to sort out board related problems or as your phone is not under warranty , you can go to a local guy and he might sort out your problem, and now on 27/09/2007 when I went to you SAP MOBILE CENTRE to pick up my phone after awaiting some phone call from your end which was totally in vain, there I noticed some very different things, forget seeing other unhappy customers, and their grievances and the way they are being handled, when I got my hand set I wanted to see the problem, and to which I haven’t received a satisfactory answer, even till now, and when I got my phone it looks totally changed the back panel is so new which cant be as I know how my phone looks and the panel has been changed and the sticker in side the phone doesn’t look like it come with a original phone as I can prove it that My Phone has been tampered , and some really fishy activities at your end, and today after 26 days of giving my phone I still don’t have a solution.

This is just to inform you , that you are in the business of communication and I did not except a company like Sony Ericsson and Internationally acclaimed company to have such pathetic, support and customer service , that too looks like to you are simply in the business of fooling & cheating people because no body revolts.

Today after receiving my handset, keeping aside my problem not being solved , I feel cheated, as you have cheated me by giving me not my own product , but god knows who’s , as I can identify my product and after this experience I am so pissed with your service attitude & customer service.

I am working for an Advertising Agency and am in the business of communication and have seen the way you position your product and how the market is growing for you and have also by word of mouth publicized your company and product as I was so happy owning one and have converted many more to use a SONY , but I regret doing it today, and form now on I shall never recommend your products.

I will see to it that I do send and get this letter published in Print media so the world understands and still how many people outside have been duped and are affected.

As even after sending this letter I don’t expect an answer or reply as I have lost hope for the same from a company I thought is different and believed in doing things differently but I have my experience now.

Complaint about service center
A copy of complaint letter to Sony Ericsson

Hello Sony Ericsson Team,

With all appreciation for the W550i phone model that I possess, I would like to register a complaint against the service center here in Chennai, India where I had sent my W550i phone for a minor upgrade and repairs.

I had the following complaints namely,
- unable to connect the handset properly.
- Photo images doesn't have clarity and quality.
- upgradtion of software.

The service center in Chennai where I sent my phone is Garage-de-telecom, located at 10(old No.30), 1th Floor,
Duraiswamy road (opp Pothys), T.Nagar, Chennai - 600 017, Chennai, India. Their phone # is 91-44-28143454/3455 &

I had sent my phone to them on 23th August 2007 at 4.00 pm time. The work that was to be done shouldn't take more than a couple of days and initially they promised that they would provide me the phone within a couple of days. But on the due date, they kept mentioning that some work is remaining and hence it will take some more days and finally I lost my patience and I told them to immediately handover my phone to me on the same day. That day was 29th August, 2007 they delivered my mobile. on the same day i connected to my computer to transfer some songs and pic from my computer, after completing file transfer i connected my handset. I was displaying the USB Messages repeatedly like phone is ready for file transfer / phone mode.
This got me upset and I promised myself that I will never get myself a Sony Ericsson phone ever if this continues.

Please act on this complaint. Like me, there must be tons of disgruntled customers out there and
not everyone has the enthusiasm to register a complaint. Eventually it is not the service center which suffers, but Sony Ericsson because most people believe that the service center is owned and not outsourced by Sony Ericsson and if this is the kind of service we get, then lets quit using their products.

I hope my complaint does not fall on deaf ears, because I have suffered enough and I am sure than Sony Ericsson is a way good company and they should do something about it.
