Denial of warranty
I had brought a w300i in name my uncle Mr Laxman yadav, and it has problem with calling while using handsfree, the service center had told me that there is problem with the earphones and the handset but they dont have the earphone in stock, so i shall come after a couple of weeks. Now when i went again they say that they will replace the handsfree earphone kit but they wont repair the mobile handset, as it is damaged by liquid. If this was the scene then the service center would have refused me in my first visit. Next they do not describe as to how to evaluate the damage [if at all due to liquid] that it is just due to moisture which may be common in every day life or the set was damaged by liquid. I am going to sue sony ericsson mobile communication india for this irresponsible answer and not providing the explanation.

Complaint about Service Center
[A copy of the email that I sent to the Sony Ericsson Team should give you an idea about the kind of complaint that I have.

Hello Sony Ericsson Team,

With all appreciation for the P990i phone model that I possess, I would like to register a complaint against the service center here in Mumbai, India where I had sent my P990i phone for a minor upgrade and repairs.

I had the following complaints namely,
- Non-working Jog Dial,
- Software upgrade, and
- a problem with the screen such that even when the flap is closed, it used to be illuminated.

The service center in Mumbai where I sent my phone is Accel Frontline Limited, located at D-16, 4th Floor, Commerce Center, Tardeo, Mumbai, maharashtra, India. Their phone # is 91-22-23521182 & email is [email protected]

I had sent my phone to them on 6th August 2007 at 4.12.41 pm time. The work that was to be done shouldn't take more than a couple of days and initially they promised that they would provide me the phone within a couple of days. But on the due date, they kept mentioning that some work is remaining and hence it will take some more days and finally I lost my patience and I told them to immediately handover my phone to me on the same day. That day was 23rd August, 2007 approx 16 days after I had sent them the phone and I asked them about the status of the work done. After detailed inquiry I found out that they had neither repaired the jogdial, nor upgraded the software, nor installed a new screen.

This got me upset and I promised myself that I will never get myself a Sony Ericsson phone ever if this continues.

Please act on this complaint. Like me, there must be tons of disgruntled customers out there and not everyone has the enthusiasm to register a complaint. Eventually it is not the service center which suffers, but Sony Ericsson because most people believe that the service center is owned and not outsourced by Sony Ericsson and if this is the kind of service we get, then lets quit using their products.

I hope my complaint does not fall on deaf ears, because I have suffered enough and I am sure than Sony Ericcson is a way good company and they should do something about it.

Delay in replacing defective mobile charger
I purchased a Sony Ericsson mobile handset of make w550i on 05.05.07. Immediately thereafter I went abroad where the charger was found to be defective. Having come back to India I contacted the Sony Ericsson Service Center at Ho Chi Min Sarani Kolkata and was advised to hand over the defective charger which I did on 12.07.07 under complaint no. 11247. Till date the charger was not replaced despite repeated telephone calls. (Each telephone call required at least 5 attempts and involved lot of wastage of time.) Does not Sony Ericsson know that mobile telephony is an essential service and can't they not provide some chargers to the service centers so that defective charger can be immediately replaced. Compared to the cost of the handset charger is not so costly that its replacement is a big affair.

Poor service and bad mobile phone!
I bought a new sony ericsson P990i last year and started having problems with it for about 6 months and i have been sending my phone in and out Official services center for about 4 times... The 1-800 number it's hopeless cos they only have 5 people answering calls and on the answering message said that they will call u back in 24 hours but i have left about 4 messages and they did not call me back... After tons of complaint they told me they will replace my old phone with a new phone but they lied they gave me an old phone with a new case... then i made an official Case : 71149544 by e-mail dated 26 jun till today case NOT solve cos people from SONY ERICSSON LIED to me over and over again...
