Dear Sir
This is to hereby bring to your notice that I purchased a Sony Ericsson X10 phone on June 27, 2010. For the past couple of weeks I am facing battery backup problem in this handset. I took my handset to the Sony authorized service station (in Darya Ganj) for this problem. They upgraded my handset's software and told to me to check the backup now. Even after updating my phone’s Software the backup was very low (on fully charged 5 hours). I took my handset to them again. Then they told me that my battery is to be replaced (under warranty) but they will replace it only when I submit my old battery. They also told me that the replaced battery will come in around 10 - 15 days. I asked them what I will do for those 15days. I requested them to give me a service battery or put a request for a replacement battery without taking my battery. They out rightly rejected my request saying that it is company's policy and they cannot do anything about it. Then I called up the Sony customer care on 011-39011111 and had a word with Mr. Sadique Hussain (Request no. 89836622) regarding the same. He also said the same thing. I requested him to give me a service battery or take a request of a replacement battery without taking my original battery. HE ALSO REJECTED MY REQUEST.
I HEREBY WANT TO KNOW AFTER SPENDING AROUND Rs. 30, 000/- FOR THE HANDSET I DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO GET MY HANDSET'S BATTERY REPLACED WITHOUT DUMPING MY PHONE FOR 15DAYS. I TOLD THEM THAT WHEN I WILL TAKE THE NEW BATTERY I WILL SURRENDER MY OLD ONE. BUT ALL MY REQUESTS ARE FALLING ON DEAF EARS.
Is there any way I can escape this torture by the hands of the company. The company people are dictating their terms without looking into customer's comfort. When we buy any product from the company we not only pay for the instrument only we pay them for the service also. Is there any way in which we can break their monopolistic practices.
PLEASE GUIDE ME AS WHAT I SHOULD DO IN THIS REGARD AND OBLIGE.
