Poor service with Sony Ericsson Handset
Dear sir,
This is regarding my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mobile Phone that I purchased in June 2010.
Around 1.5 months a problem was noticed in the phone due to which no sound could be heard from the caller / responder side when used in normal operation. In loudespeaker mode, all voices and sounds were audible.
As warranty was still valid for the phone, I had given the phone for repair to the Sony Ercisson Service Centre in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh on 28th March 2011. The work order no. for the same is SE31102111461. The IMEI no. for my mobile phone is 359419030851561The initial date quoted by the Service Centre was 15days, i.e.12th April 2011. On enquiry on the 10th of April 2011 (telephonic / personal visit), the revised date quoted was 30th April 2011. When contacted again on date of delivery, the date was revised to 08th of May 2011. All through this process, I was told that the phone was being sent to Mu7mbai, Japan, Sweden etc etc etc.
Due to my persistence with the Service Centre in NOIDA, I did get my mobile phone back as per scheduled date of 8th May 2011 but with the same problem persisting as before. Still, I was not able to hear the other person's voice during a phone call when operating in normal mode. In loudspeaker mode, the same was OK. The cell phone was henceforth repaired but since repair, my 8gb sd card was missing. On that very day on bringing back my phone home I checked and found the sd card missing. On querying the next day, my father, who is an aged man was insulted and simply told that it was his bloody mistake that he didnt check it at the time of delivery. I understand the point the sales lady was trying to make, but passing off one's incompetency through an old man's mistake is not worthy of the brand name and goodwill of M/s.Sony Ericsson. Customers should not be harassed in this way. I also understand that this behaviour was a retribution for rating the service centre 2/10 in sony ericsson service survey.
This kind of service is not acceptable form a company of Sony Ertcisson's standards. For the past 1 and a half months I had been without a phone and waiting for repair without knowing the content of problem, change to be done, etc. Only on 30th of April, was I told that the motherboard had to be replaced and hence was sent to Sweden. Now I do not know whether the phone wiil work properly after these repairs as my warranty would lapse soon and any further corelated problem would not be entertained as per my understanding.
Please suggest what legal options do i have in such a scenario..
