I bought Sony Ericsson W580i in January 2008. My phone is a walkman edition and if i ever played music for more than 15 minutes, whole of the battery used to get discharged.
I took my phone to Sony Service Center (Salora International Ltd, Bangalore) and they replaced the new battery with an old one. I somehow accepted the old battery because they promised me that I will not face any issues with it but battery performance improved negligibly.
i was managing somehow with that but after a month, all of a sudden my phone got switched off
and when i took it to service center they said there is some corrupted software which affects the battery and they
asked me to collect the phone after one week which was 15th April 2008 but on 15th evening I received a call from the Service Station that the
motherboard of my phone is damaged and they are sending it to Chennai and it will take minimum 25 days to get the phone back.
I logged a complaint with the Sony Ericsson Service Center on 8th April (complaint ID 72087794) but did not get any convincing reply.
they only informed me that my case has been forwarded to the concerned department and i will be informed about the progress.
I called up the Customer care on 15th April and asked them to provide me the details of that so called 'concerned department'
but they refused to disclose that information
and when i asked the representative to transfer my call to her supervisor, she refused to do that stating he will not be able
to provide any solution to me (Thanks to Mr Kishore Garg for being the Supervisor of the Customer Care team who does not even bother to listen to customer complaints)
Now i am left with no other option than sending my phone to Chennai for infinite period and lodge a case with consumer forum after facing such a traumatic
experience of managing without phone and listening to the hopeless replies of the Great Sony Ericsson Customer Care.
