Failed to Honor Service Contract
I bought a 40" Sony Bravia and purchased a service contract that stated "they would repair if ANYTHING went wrong". However when I did have a problem I was told the Company whose service contract they sold me had gone bankrupt. They offered NO SERVICE OR COMPENSATION of any kind. I was told to email [email protected] who NEVER answered my NUMEROUS e-mails or attempts to contact by telephone. I suggest you avoid Abe's of Maine at all costs. NO SUPPORT. Paid for my own repairs. I wiil never buy from them again.

product quality and customer service
This is my 2nd dealing with Sony within a year with 2 different products. I had an ereader that failed within 9 months and sony had it for 3 of those months for repairs. maybe 15 hours on the reader. That was delbt with after an exhausting process with sony customer service that took months for an end result. I now have a Sony TV that I had insisted on staying with sony due to my life long product satisfaction and loyalty to sony( before the ereader issue). My boyfriend purchased a samsung TV just before i got my sony tv and loved it...it's still working without issue. My sony tv however, failed after again minimum usage. My tv has maybe 50 hours of usage on it in total. It is 3 years old and for a year and a half it sat in a corner not even plugged in after a divorce. Once the TV was being used again it was in a childs room for very limited use. We got a line across the middle of the TV and called Sony. The debacle started right from the onset. They said i could take it to a local shop, which i did. After that shop evaluated it, I called sony and they said it was not an authorized sony shop. I had to pick up the tv and deliver it to a sony repair shop 30 miles out of my way, which I did. They evaluated the TV and advised that the problem was a board and it would cost more to fix than to replace the tv. Sony did agree to pay for the evaluation but with all of the calls and problems with a tv that had such low usage that is the least they should do. Then they offerred to give a replacement "refurbished" tv for 200 which i foolishly accepted. Before they would accept payment or deal with any of it, I had to go to the repair shop and get the model number and serial number sticker off of the tv and mail it to them. Another 30 miles but i did so. at this point we are 3 weeks into the issue with hours of phone calls already. once they recieved the sticker they charged my card and advised at this point it will take a month to get the tv. Numerous phone calls and dealing with their main shipper it seems d b schnecker(problem #2) who treats their customers as poorly as sony, par for the course. After several calls the tv was finally coming on a day I was off of work already thank god. The local delivery person for d b Schnecker was very accomodating i must say. When they got here with the TV I asked them to wait while I opened the tv to inspect it. It was broken and it didn't have box damage. It was either poor packaging or honestly looked to me like it was broken when it left sony ( the screen looked burnt where it was shattered). I refused shipment and called sony. Sony of course could not do anything until they got the tv back, even though they verified that the shipper never delivered the package and it was refused due to damage. Four days later I called sony again...they had not received the tv. I called the shipper and the tv was still sitting at the shipper waiting to hear from sony on what to do with the tv. Last I knew when something got refused all the shipping companies return the shipment to the original shipper. I called Sony back and nothing. Once they got the tv back they started to process sending another replacement. Oh boy... another month plus they tell me. Completely unacceptable. Now I call Sony it's been 2 months plus at this point and no tv, I've advised that the tv shipped out and should be there within a week. I found this out because of a phone call from a "middleman" company since there was a problem with original shipment with the shattered tv. However, I am advised that they will be picking up the old tv when they deliver the new per sony's advisement. i was originally advised that the sony repair center was ok to keep the tv when i had to send the sticker from the back of the tv. I called sony to discuss and the representative tells me that yes they requested that, after arguing a bit they came back after a long hold and said that i am correct the label was already received and I would not need to return the tv since it was at their repair center. The rep then put me on hold for a solid 10 minutes to call the shipping company db schnecker, came back and told me that he told them it was ok and that he would also send an email to them to make sure they were not looking for a replacement return. I asked for some sort of compensation for the ongoing troubles and i was offered 3 months extra warranty. An insult if you ask me. If the new tv doesn't last the 6 months I don't want anything from sony ever again. I was told nothing more can be done for me. I asked for my issue to be escalated to customer advocacy or equivalent and was told ok you have to call back this same number tomorrow between 8-5. I had no problem with that but then the rep said they are not doing anything more to contact the shipper since i was being escalated. I spoke with Paul from their national center and he was very nice and helpful since i didn't feel I was asking for anything major. Paul handled the email to the shipper and when i questioned further compensation he said they should have given me 1 year warranty since i was paying for the tv even though a reduced rate. Even though I don't feel that was any addition compensation, I accepted that and moved forward hoping for an end to it all. When i track the package it shows the label printed and the package received on the 10th of june and due to arrive on 17th. Much to my surprise, the package sat in san diego for 4 days after the label was printed either at sony or at the shippers dock( no way to determine who is lying). I have to say that I have worked for an international company for 14 years now and even though customer service has gone downhill for all of corp america Sony has to be the very worst I've delbt with. I have worked with customer escalations on both a locan and a national level and currently handle escalations daily and I would never treat one of my customers like this. I won't say my company doesn't treat anyone this way because I know it happens in every company out there but when someone reaches our escalations line we do everything we can to accomodate the issue at hand if the requests are reasonable. I've probably spent close to 4 days time on this issue if all the hours were added up and the tv is nowhere near my wage for those 4 days i spent dealing with sony even if i didn't pay a penny for the replacement. I will likely call Paul who is the only person I will give credit to at this point even for just treating me with respect and listening to what I had been through already. There is no way I will even deal with sony again if the tv fails within a year of the warranty. The way I look at things, you can have 1 issue with a company but having 2 issues with seperate products within a years time, the company is in such decline they don't deserve anyones business. I will be moving to anything but sony products at this point. I won't even consider the recent issues with the playstation network and psp network that my child has had. I do however see where people got angry enough with the company to create the attacks that are claimed have been made.

I bought sony lcd couple of months back & still it is in its warranty period. The inputter yellow pin was got struck & broken while fitting the same in to the panel device. we informed the same to the customer care and The Executive who visited told us that It cannot be replaced as it didn`t come under warranty and you have to buy a new panel box worth Rs. 5600/-. When my LCD is in its warranty period & pin was broken itself during its fitting then why company is not ready to change it.Kindly look in to the matter other wise I have to raise the same to higher level, I just want to replace the same from the company immediatelly without any payment

Set has blurred screen and horizontal lines thru screen set was 4 months out of the factory warramnty when problem ocurred . This a $2000.00 TV. I feel truly ripped and Sony has had a lot of problems with these issues. I believe there should be a Class Action Lawsuit

i bought a vaio laptop for my son just over 3 year ago a month ago it died. looking on many web sites it turns out that their made a bad graphic chip and design from the start and will repair the problem by charging the mother board. great i think their pick it up and do this free out of warranty too (unless it is due to another part)but to my laptop two bits haven't work for the last two years / a wireless switch and use port both of which dont stop or kill the board/ sony say that they will not repair their fault due to this. i say repair your fault and give me back mine cause your is the one that needs sorting. its still at sony repairs their want £322 to change the m/b

I have been given the run away for more than a month on a repair to my older Sony camera. I called initially and asked if it could be fixed, they said yes within 10 days. I was told I would receive information via email on how to send them my camera. After another 2 calls and 2 days still no email after being told a second time to wait another 24 hours, I finally got a person on the phone and they said no need for the emailed form just write the information down and place in the box. On the initial call I was told the max cost of the repair and if they couldn't fix it they would return it at no cost. I followed the delivery and knew they had received it so I called after a week or so and asked about the camera. They said it was being looked at. I waited another week and called again, same story. I am also emailing too. After 4 weeks they tell me they don't have the parts at this time and don't know when they will get them... not even a clue. I wait another week. I email, call, etc. and getting finally get an email from a Carlos Keyes offering another camera for the cost of the repair to my old one. I purchased a similar camera just prior to this Christmas and have developed a few issues with it, so I sure don't want another one. I called today and this person said he was Charlie Keyes (no relation, right) said he couldn't guarantee when I can get this replacement camera. I asked to speak to a supervisor and of course... there was not one available and I asked to leave a message and the "Charlie" said he couldn't guarantee if his supervisor would call me back. I am going out west in 6 days... I need a camera. I believe these people are not telling me the truth. I have more to this story but not enough time to cover it. I have lost all respect for Sony and will NEVER buy another Sony product ever.

CLICKING NOISE -DEAF ENGINEERS
After two weeks of ejoing my laptop sony Vcp F11 it started to make clicking noise.I ignored that as I heard it happens ant it isn't serious.But the noise was so often that it started to be annoing to evan work on my vaio.I went to PS World to ask and they told me it may be hard drive problem and I should send it to sonys repair as the vaio is on warranty.The noise appears just a second after I press the touch pad, every time when I open new folder, new webside(it's realy annoing when I search for something on internet)I have sent it to sonys repair twice and it came back with the same noise, despite they replaced harddrive(at least they said they did)and updated Bios.And they said the laptop passed all their standard tests(but obviously not the sound test cause i can hear the clicking with my bare ears).Right now my vaio is at sonys repair for the third time and I received phonecall today ant the woman told me the laptop is absolutely fine and they highly skilled engineers can't hear eny noise.I was so shocked, she tried to persuade me I'm mad as well as my husband, family and friends cause we all hear noises that don't exist.I explained that you have to use the vaio to hear the clicking but they just pretend they dont hear it and the woman suggested they will send me my laptop back because they didn't find any foult.As far as I know after 3rd time when sony will not manage to repare my laptop I can start refund procedure, but what if they say that there is no problem, they dont hear anything so the vaio works perfectly fine for them-they will simply not give me a penny back and I will simply end up with clicking laptop .Not evan mention how much time and nervs it cost me.I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH SONY!!!

Reported a line going down my TV and customer service tried trouble shooting it, but it never worked. They told me to get a new cable box and it still didnt fix line. When i called to get fixed again my warrenty was up and they would do nothing even though I reported the problem before the warrenty expired. They had me call someone out to look at it for 1oo bucks and they took one look at it(didnt even open up tv) and told me it was a 700 dollar part. Sony solution was to sell me another tv at an "extreme discount" (tv still cost 12oo - some discount LOL). They told me since no one looked at tv before warrenty expired that they could do nothing. to diagnose the problem they had me call someone out to look at it and I had to pay an extra amount of money to have someone look at it. they repair man knew what was wrong just by looking at it and i feel sony should have known from the beginning that the LCD panel was bad through my decsriptions. i spent a lot of time with customer service and the only thing they could say was "i see sir" and "try reprogramming your tv . not to mention everytime they sent an update my tv wouldnt even read it. Totally unacceptable!

Stolen PSP
My family and friends travel from Ohio to Miami to partake in some family fun in the sun we arrived in miami on the 9th of april for the 10th trip. While traveling my two daughters traveled with there Sony portiable PSP's (black in color) upon arriving to there rooms (1267 & 1268) for early check in and PSP's in their carry-on bags. When arriving to our rooms the beds in room 1268 were connected together I went to guest services to request that they be seperated. Without any success the beds remaind connected so I made a call to housekepping around 7:30pm to have them seperated. My daughters Alexandria, Kayla and my niece T. Patton wonted to go swimming At this time I went to room 1267 "so they could put on their swimming suit" were myself and my daughter Kayla were staying. At some ponit Alexandria went into the restroom to put on her swim suit, my niece was next to put hers on by this time the crew arrived to room 1268 to sperate there beds. "PSP was in the room before they left to come to room 1267 while the changes were made". After a period of time they left room 1267 and return to 1268 so my niece could put on her swim suit. "They did not check to see if the PSP was were she left it", it was after returning to the room from swimming and after we showering and changing into more cloths is when she discovered it was missing. At this point I went to guest service to file a complaint without ant success in finding the game or filling like I talk to someone who gave damn.
