Repair service
I bought a new sony 40" tv... after 58 days, we lost sound and picture. According to the repair service, "it was something major... they would have it back within 5 business days. It has been one month, so far, still without a tv. Sony blamed them, they blamed Sony. Neither would call back within the specified time, (by them) to let us know what was going on. After many calls and complaints, the repair service is returning the broken tv... still broken, and according to Sony, a new one (comparable, they say), will be shipped, somebody will call us within 2 weeks to schedule the shipment time. I find it very hard to believe that a company as large as Sony has done so well, with service this poor. Hope this is an isolated incident, however, I will never buy another Sony product again.

failure in service
i purchase a sony bravia LCD 32 inch.the product did not work after 20 days of purchase.now i have been complaining for more than a month and no reasonable reply has been given, the service center says that this is a common problem and it occours in 9 out of 10 products and secondly the do not have the stock of the same to be changed.

the behaviour of the executives are horifing and rude.

i swear not to buy any product of sony in future.

PLAYSTATION 3
Just got off the phone with U.S. Sony Corp. about my PS3 issues. The second in three months mind you. I've been having problems with the system overheating. The first time around the PS3 never recovered, it simply burned up and died. After a month of waiting and an additional 150 bucks I received my system back and from what I could tell Sony replaced a few parts which included a HIGH INDUSTRIAL POWERED snow blower of a fan. This thing was so loud I couldn't hear the gameplay and it didn't help with the overheating. Two months into receiving my PS3 back from repairs the system continued to overheat and shut down. Gameplay is impossible!!! So, I called Sony to let them know and their answer was yes we can fix it, just pay us another 150 bucks. I've been a Sony guy since the first Playstation but no more. Goodbye Sony, hello X-BOX and Wii.

PSP BRICK
I purchased the PSP for my son. He borrows a friends game and his PSP states he needs to download a new version to run the game. He starts the download and his battery runs low and shuts down. This in turn places the PSP in a mode called BRICK. You are now unable to use the PSP. I contacted Sony and they want at least $90 to fix it. A very common problem with the PSP's and they are making money just to fix a product they know will screw up.

Customer Service
I am furious with the customer service provided by Sony. My Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 was purchased for over $452 in December of 2007 and given to me for Christmas. I purchased and additional $60 worth of accessories. In January of 2009 as I was about to take pictures, the camera showed a black screen with multicolored lines on the screen. I went to the Sony help site to see what could be done to fix the problem. Nothing there was a help. I then spent some weeks trying to find a camera shop to see what could be done. No one could help and I was told that only a Sony repair facility could repair the camera. By this time it was April. I don't have the time to spend hours and days at a time to deal with a camera repair. I finally got information from the Sony site and filled out all the forms following the instructions to pay for insurance and shipping to a facility in Texas. In addition I sent a check for $141. How could I throw away a camera that cost more than $500? I had to pay the $141 and the cost of shipping and insuring the camera. The person behind the desk said they do about 12-15 ships to Sony a week! Outrageous! My camera now is soaring in cost to the $700 mark. I surely do not have a camera worth $700. We do not have that kind of money, by choice, to spend on a camera! The Cyber-Shot is not a $700.00 camera. I contacted

An assistant named Barry phoned me to say he appreciated my feedback, but too bad it took me too long to figure out what to do about the camera repair, so thanks for writing to Sony and he disconnected from me while I was talking to him. So much for customer service from Sony. It seems clear that Mike Ehlers' objective is profit for Sony at the expense of the customer.
No fair treatment for a Sony customer.

My sony vaio vgn ns130e was giving me problems. It was turning itself off and on. Then eventually never came back on. I contacted sony about the issue they sent me a box via fedex. I received the box on june 8. When I received it it was empty on the inside. On the outside it had a clear plastic enevelope with the return shipping label and the work order form. I did everything I was supposed to do as an customer. On june 13 I recieve d and email stating my repair charges woukld be 534.99 mind you my laptop was purchase for on 659.99 so that's a total lost. I called the number provided in my email I spoke it an ryan and told me the reason why my repair charges are so high is because my lcd screen is cracked. I totally flipped out. I asked how did my screen crack he explain to me that it happen during shipping. Then he said he couldn't tell me anymore about the issue and I would have to wait until Monday to speak to a repair rep because their office was closed on the weekends. Now. With tthe information I got from ryan I called fedex to file a claim. I was told I couldn't do so because I didn't pay for the shipping. I waited until Monday before I could contact sony they already had sent me an email once again reminding me of the charges. I called explain again to the young lady by the name of michelle and was told the same thing about the damage and she transfered me to the repair center where I spoke with bianca. Bianca then tells me the reason I am beng charged is because my lcd is cracked and it was improperly package I asked how? She tells me that she would have to contact an shipment manager and call me back. While I wait I google the ceo of sony found out it was HOWARD STRINGER. I google the corporate address and telephone number got an number to a lady name anglea. Long story short so far they are refusing to fix my screen they offered me an discount rate of 4 hundred odd dollars . I am disappoint in sony if I have I will file a small claims suit against them and fedex.

Scam
6ave.com is a scam company. Customer service non existeance after payment is made, absolutely ignorant, lying crooks. So called managers are more crooks. Avoid this. I had not one but two bad experiences regarding sony camcorder DCRSX41 and a pioneer receiver.

AVOID THEM. DONT FALL FOR THEIR PRICES.

They fixed and made me happy and got me a hi8 camcorder
After going trough hell by buying a hi8 camcorder trough amazon.com i met this company cameraforless.com what saved me and got me overnight a sony dcr-trv460. the salesman isreal was very helpful and knew what he was selling and told me how to transfer my old tapes. after speaking with sony 3 hours they figured out that the trv480 and 460 what are 4-5 years old will be the only cameras what will fit my need. i am not this review type writer but i went out of my way and searched teh internet where can i say thanks and this website i saw people saying comments. a unhappy customer will make sure to leave a bad review a happy one also needs to write.

GE Extended Warranty Plus
Be careful of GE extended service warranties. What they won't tell you is, the unit must break 3 times within 12 months for the same reason in order to be replaced...like that is going to happen...then they have the right to take up to 90 days to fix the unit...so actually it will need to break 3 times in 90 days if they have it their way, and third they have the right to use refurbished parts..yes broken parts that have been sort of fixed. Also if they do ever replace the unit they have the right to replace it with with a unit that has similar features and functions, but has nowhere near the same value or cost.
Like my $1200 Sony DVD player, I'm lucky if it will even work after their "Authorized Service Center" which gets the worst reviews online "fixes" it again after the 13th month.
