Customer Realtions Call Center
A request was made of Sony Electronics to provide warranty service and to replace a defective brand new part on a electronic item which was purchased recently. The customer relations team for Sony responded by saying they would take care of the matter, howver, they have done nothing, provided no shipping label as promised, provded very poor and discourteous customer service, contradicted what they said with what they did, and produced at least five occassions of contradictory statements, and lastly, even tried to accuse the customer of lying, although the customer recieved niether services, nor replacement parts, or for that matter, anything from Sony, other than poor, subjective, unknowledgable and incompentent treatment.

repairs
Complaint work order # w54npw22

My name is Ellison Johnson i sent my sony sub woofers to get repaired at your laredo location. These people are rude they hang up on you when they have nothing to say to answer your questions.they have been giving me the run around on getting them fix. I have spoke to two supervisors and three reps after two weeks they told me that i should recive them i did not get them.So i call them they said i will get them by the end of that week so now its three weeks and still no speakers. Now they said they don't have any replacement speakers to ship out that they are going to send me a check for the speakers and now i have to wait three weeks for that. They should of told me that from the first week i talk to them that they had no extra speakers.I should of know that this was going to happen after reading the consumer reports. All the bad things they say about the repair department.I will never buy a sony product again because if it breaks you have to wait two months to get it fix or your money back. They do not live up to there warranty. It said ten days not two months.

service centers are just good for nothing
i have a sony digital camera for the past three and half years now (DSC T-100) serial no.2395791. i had given my camera to an authorised service center, SOMRU TECHNOLOGIES in DWARKA, NEW DELHI because i found some dust particles inside the LCD, hence was given to get it cleaned. i was told to collect it the next day and today when i went to collect it, i found out that the dust particles were still there and not only this., there is more dust and scratches. when asked to ARVIND ( the person attending me), he replied ' we have cleaned it and nothing can be done and the only thing now is to change the LCD.
According to me it is mere dust particles which can be easily cleaned (to which arvind agreed), i had given it to an authorised service center and not any other shop because i love my camera, and this is what i get!! i paid them Rs.500.
This is seriously not expected out of a service center. The technicians should know to take care of the equipment, now there is more dust and scratches on the camera LCD and i Am really not happy with the service.

Online update 3.10 ruined my PS3 and Sony did it on purpose!
A few months ago Sony released update 3.10 for the PS3 and it ruined my PS3 and thousands of others. I filled out a BBB complaint and Sony refused to answer. (Sony is not a member of the BBB, how convenient for them). I see on Sony's website that this happened to many, many others.

I will NEVER BUY ANY SONY PRODUCT EVER AGAIN. That's right Sony, lifetime boycott here by me and my entire family and a large group of friends.

May Sony go the way of toyota and be busted big time! Sony sucks! All of Sony's products suck! I wouldn't use a Sony product to wipe my rear!

ONLY A COMPLETE SUCKER AND MORON WOULD EVER BUY A SONY PRODUCT AFTER WHAT THEY PURPOSELY DID TO THEIR PS3 CUSTOMERS!

Hey FCC, how about doing your job for a change? The Sony update was sent over the internet, does not the FCC control the internet? I would say the FCC does not do anything! Please prove me wrong and bust Sony...if You've got the power and the balls!

BOTTOM LINE: SONY PRODUCTS ARE ONLY FOR LOSERS! BOYCOTT SONY AND ALL OF JAPAN, THEY ONLY MAKE JUNK! FACT!

warranty
Sony DCR-DVD908, with full replacement warranty on damage. Sony will not do any replacement on any parts or fix the problems because it was bought in a different country. they say they only repair sony in the country in which it bought.. so they avoid any warranty by their policy of send it back. I even paid for it to be serviced in the USA and got it back the next day with note they do not fix out of country sony. they did not even refund the $280 i paid for service.
should have been fixed for no charge.

sony a rip off company.. will never buy sony again in any product they make.

After 3 weeks of nothing, Sony didn't refund me money for their mistake
After 3 weeks of nothing, Sony didn't refund me for an HD movie that was not in widescreen 1080p. I rented through the PSN on the PS3 and it was 4:3. I didn't finish downloading it mind you so I thought it would be even easier to get a refund. Ha, boy was I wrong. It would've been easier to run a marathon than to hope sony would help out a dedicated customer. To make me happy is simple, refund my $5 for my movie rental on the PSN network. (you would think it would be rather easy huh...??)

Dont Buy SONY VAIO VGN
I’m and Electronics Engineer, power user and hardcore gamer, been into computers since I was 14, my first computer was a Sinclair ZX81.

On October 19, 2008 I bought a Sony Vaio VGN-FW285J ( nearly the same as the one on the video but for $1700 with bluray burner) at the J&R Store in Manhattan. The laptop worked fine for a couple of months. One evening, while playing a game, the laptop suddenly shut down. I tried to turn it on but it failed to respond. When touching the keyboard you could feel the laptop was hot. I assumed the computer had turned off as a result of an overheat protection measure. I waited five minutes and turned the laptop on without any problems. I resumed playing the game and the same thing happened. This time the computer shut down after playing for 5 minutes.

I bought a coolerpad for the laptop. The problem seemed to have disappeared. As I live in Costa Rica, and the guarantee is only for the United States, I decided to continue with the coolerpad until I had a chance to go to the States and take it to support. As time passed the problem reappeared to the point that I was not even able to use the laptop normally, the keyboard freezes and the laptop shuts down a few minutes after being turned on, no matter what I do, even with the coolerpad.

I was able to go to New York in October 2009. I took the laptop to Sony Plaza, under guarantee coverage. Support there was very professional, I told them that I thought it was an overheating problem and that I lived in Costa Rica where temperature was at least 10 celsius degrees higher than in New York. They added a note in the repair voucher, . In less than a week they called me back saying they had repaired the laptop and that all was ok. I picked up the laptop and was told they had changed the fan. I tested the laptop and it seemed to work fine. When I arrived in Costa Rica, I turned on the laptop and after 15 minutes of work it shut down as it had been doing before taking it to support.

Lucky for me I had a friend going to New York the following week. I gave him the laptop and he again took it to Sony Plaza. One week later my friend picked up the laptop. He was told the motherboard was changed. When I got back the laptop in Costa Rica. I was surprised to find that after running the laptop for 10 minutes it shut down!!!

Sincerely, I don’t know what kind of technical support SONY has, twice I’ve taken the laptop in for repair, twice I have been told parts were replaced and twice I have found the repairs ineffective.
Now, I sent it back for a third time, and they say it has physical damage and that voids the warranty, what physical damage?? The laptop was physically perfect all the times it was sent to SONY.

SONY are a bunch of scammers.

DON’T BUY any SONY product, if it works you won’t have a problem, but if it fails under warranty forget to have it repaired, they will have you hours at the phone talking with a bunch of retarded people that won’t help you, and even if you take it to repair and explain them what happens with all kind of details they won’t repair it.

If you think you are paying for a quality product and costumer service you are being fooled.

DON’T BUY SONY!

VAIO VGN Computer
I bought a Sony computer because of the Sony name and recommendation by the store employee (after I had explained what I needed from the computer – good sound quality for recording music). Not only does this computer fail my expectations for recording music, which are based on my previous older Gateway computer, which unfortunately died, but in addition – the battery life is only a little over 2 hours and the power cord is short (thereby limiting the portability one desires in a laptop); the keyboard is NOT ergonomically comfortable (my hands and wrist hurt after 15 minutes of typing and I make numerous errors because of the spacing of the keys); and the mouse has a delay and stutter problem, for which I have shipped it off to be repaired and it still has the same problem. Now, the on-off button has caved in (I am not one for pushing hard on the keys, or the on-off button). I have advised Sony of the mouse problem (again)and the fact I am extremely displeased with this product; the reply recieved was polite, but not sympathetic and ended with “Thank you for choosing Sony.” Not an exactly an appropriate ending for a response to a harsh complaint letter. This computer cost $900. Do I feel ripped-off? Yes I do.

So, if you type a lot, want a laptop that is portable, record music, and don't want a temperamental mouse - this is not the computer for you.

DO NOT BUY FORM THESE GUYS
Guys I had to write this. I have a 50" Grand Wega it has great color but the thing had a problem with the card that drives the lamp $225 after I bought it (at about 6 months.) So Sony fixed that one.

I then had this blue blob start in the upper right corner of my screed right after the warranty ran out. This was a $700 (Color engine).

After researching and many, many calls, I found that they had a class action law suit for the previous TV (similar or same color engine). Sony told me that after paying $3000 for the TV they felt the eighteen months use I got out of it was enough.

If you are still reading, after contacting the attorney in NY city. I received a phone call that they would repair it. To this day I don't know why. The lawyer told me that he was a small firm and could not go against Sony again tho he had won!

But, every 12 - 18 months like clock work I have to replace the Lamp Driver card (at $225). I've now replaced three. It gets trashed the nexted time.

I will never never by Sony again.

By the way do your homework I was told that one of the other firms uses Sonys electronics. Sorry I don't remember the name.
