CS series Fan Issue
I bought my vaio laptop in February 2009 from a local store. Its model is VGN-CS190. After a few months it started getting stuck and hung and the fan produced a lot of noise. The issue remained like that; infact after a few more months it started getting turned off automatically. When i used to switch it on again, sometimes it didnt start, and sometimes it did. I went to my seller. He told me about the CS series very common fan issue and that your fan needs to be replaced. Since it was in warranty, i availed the opportunity and got my fan changed after approximately seven months from purchase. A month later after repair, the fan has again started producing lot of noise and sometimes it gets stuck as well. It has not yet again started to switch off automatically due to the fan issue, but i know it will happen again. I have used other laptops as well and they are quite and calm. Mine on the other hand is very noisy. I have spent around Rs. 90, 000/- on it and i expect the best. Kindly do reply to this complaint at your earliest and please bring me a solid satisfactory answer. I bought this expensive brand as it speaks for itself but now i repent on my purchase. Please do something, either give me a new one or give me my money back... Awaiting your response..

Noisy fan
Dear Sony Vaio,

I am Ma Thet Mon Aye and I am writing this letter for the sake of your business.
I am an international student from Myanmar who is now styding in UCL (london).

I have bought VGN CS36GJ in this June 2009 in Singapore before I set off to London . And after 4 mths, I got the fan noise problem. It is really heavy noise that it irritates me alot.I am a computer science student who chose Vaio over Mac and I have alot of Sony products with me.

I bought it from Singapore and added IRSP which I thought is international warranty because of the sales person who told me that covers the warranty for UK too.
However, I found out that it don't cover in UK but in other countries.

I am shocked.I thought Vaio is an international brand which will cover its warranty everywhere.I mean at least the parts if the service fees cannot be covered.More, it is not even 6 mths yet to get the fan noise.

Addition, it makes me dissapoint alot that Sony Service Centre which cost me more than 20 GDP to call since I have to call everytime and they always reply me after 3 days and call me during the lectures leaving voice msg to call them back.You know, in UK, to call to Sony is not easy it cost me 35p even while I am waiting a stuff to hold my call.It really pissed me off.

They quote me for 200 GDP since my warrenty is not in UK. It is alot for a student like me.Plus, it is not my fault since I don't even do anything yet.I have checked out the shipping rates with FedEx, it will cost me around 200 for shipping to Singapore and get back from Singapore which really costs me alot and I am now in the corner.

I guess this will be my last Sony Laptop. I will never choose Sony again. I will never think second time. I was disappointed like this.

If there is no service that will do as a compensation for CS series, I guess alot of customers will go away too.

Please check it out.The product is bad and customer service is expensive with worse and not consider for a customer who is a student.

I think if there is nothing that will do as compensation for me, I will not even choose Sony products again.

not working
i purchsed a lcd (sony vaio ) date 28/10/07.but in this lcd was problam 1st time date 29/09/08
i told to compney pls exchange my lcd i am not cetisfied with this lcd.but they repaired my lcd.
but now i am facing the same problam again.i request pls change my lcd.i dont want repair it by you

Bad service
Have very serious unjust treatment related with vaio Europe support service. Related with this subject I have to send my complaints and problems to japanese responsible unit. Please send me emergency contact details of this responsible unit... Because, my problem that is related with vaio euro support, european support unit is not volunteer to give me contact details of japan headquarter... I am a client in Istanbul Turkey, I am writing this letter so sadly and desperately. I buy a vaio note book and after than I have some problems with it and it’s already 45 days I give it to the Sony European service without a clear answer. The problem is after 2 weeks I buy it, I found some problems in the notebook, from that time and the next one year l at least call the service 300 times and still not any response and I got their announcement 14th may that they agree to take the notebook to Belgium for repairing, then I give them the computer. After that I still not get any useful information or responsible from them and ask them the contact of the center office of Sony company in Japan, but sadly they don’t give me. After than I found this fax number. I always believe Sony is the most magnificent company and it will bring us the best service. But now, I am really disappointed .so and desperately hope you can help me to solve my problem.

Do not buy Sony VAIO!
I am so mad that I can't even think straight .. It is a long story, to make the long story short DO NOT buy SONY laptop. DEFINITELY stay away form they warranty.. the r liars!!! After selling me use lap top they did not want to take it back. Finally after almost on my last month of warranty the decide to let me send it back to them this lap top to see what is really going on with it.. OMG!.. 3 days later after i send to them the lap top they send me a e-mail letting me know that my bill is $800 and that this problem warranty do not cover!! Now what shell i do? They sold me old lap top instead of new one and warranty that i paid money for, then after one year of begging them to fix my lap top they told me that it can't be cover for this problem!! Where do go? I want to scream and cry! And all I have left is this board! Mid time they make billion on poor people like us! LIARS!!! DO NOT BUY SONY VAIO!!!
