Dan Forbes is the most unprofessional DJ I've ever seen. He came to our wedding totally undressed, complained about our food (which everyone else loved) in front of our guests using his microphone, and insisted on full payment upfront in cash, despite our contractual agreement to pay half upfront and half later. He told me that if I didn't like the new terms, he'll just leave, and began packing up his equipment. And this was all done in plain sight in front of all the guests. He then began to argue with me while intentionally leaving the microphone on. How embarrassing!
Furthermore, he looks like a criminal and behaves like one, too. A word of advice to all soon-to-be weds. NEVER use Sounds of Distinction as your DJ. One of the most important things to have at any wedding is a good DJ service, and you will be utterly disappointed at the way Dan Forbes will treat you. Also, always ask for your agreement in writing. Never take someone's word, especially not Dan Forbes'. He will hold your wedding ransom when you need him most.
I am not the only victim. Several of my other friends had the exact same experience, minus the embarrassing microphoned blatant insults about the quality of our food and him threatening to leave.
But don't take my word for it. You can visit their website, and see for yourself by going to the URL tag above. It's very bare, and poorly done, which is a perfect reflection of their service. I, unfortunately, was referred to this poor excuse for a DJ through a friend of mine who used Sounds of Distinction at his wedding, and was fortunate enough not to get his wedding crashed by Dan Forbes. Later on, that friend of mine confessed that the only reason he used Sounds of Distinction was that they were cheap. Let that be a lesson to all. Shop on value, not price! Dan may be cheap, but he's not qualified.
Caveat Emptor!
