Like others, I order a trial of South Beach Acai. I ordered on 2/12/09. I did not recived my trial bottle until 2/21/09, so I only had a few days left of my trial period. So, I called to cancel and the lady I talked to convinced me to let her extend my trial period through 3/20/09. I called on the 20th to cancel and they said it was too late, that I was supposed to call on the 19th. I went round and round with a man that I could hardly understand, his english was so bad. There was a lot of background noise and I had to raise my voice to get him to stop and listen to me. Then he would pause long enough for me to start talking, just to cut me off in mid sentence. I tried to tell him that there is nothing in writing that said that you have to cancel the day before your trial is up. And the lady that convinced me to let her extend my trial did not tell me that. She said that my trial was through 3/20/09. I could get nowhere, so I hung up.
I called my credit card company to file a dispute. I was told that there are a many, many disputes being filed right now against these companies offering trials of Acai and colon cleansers. I was told that even after people cancel their trials that they are still getting charged large amounts for products. It was suggested that I change my credit card number because that was the only way to ensure that they could not charge my account anymore. That's what I did. I would suggest that anyone that has ordered any kind of trial or auto-ship products do the same if you want to ensure that you are not unfairly charged again. The hassle is worth it because these companies are scamming us and need to be stopped.
