Unauthorized Charges
The company advertised a trial sample, which only included shipping charges, approximately $1.95. Because the ad was on the CNN website, I mistakenly figured the company was reputable. After I ordered the product online, the company called me to confirm. Immediately, they tried to aggressively up-sale me on many other products, telling me that they were moving forward, anxious to hang up. I had to quickly, explicitly indicate that I was only interested in the special trial offer for $1.95 and that I would not pay for any other products or charges. After I received the product, I did not open the box. It sat in my office until I received another charge, unauthorized, for $78.95. It seems that the company decided to place me on a trial program that would automatically charge my credit card, monthly, if I did not cancel my membership. I thought I had only received their trial product. However, when I tried to call them to have the charges reversed (I didn't even open the box) they denied any culpability, told me that I should have read the fine print. I told them I did not even try the product and was returning it immediately; therefore they had no basis for charging me anything. They would not budge. Don't fall for this scam! Write your congressman and help to close down these "fast-one" operations for good!

Manipulative Marketing
Earlier this month I made the mistake of purchasing this produce from an internet advertisement (I believe it was on Facebook). The procuct ad claimed that it was a 14-day risk free trial offer. It was supposed to cost a few dollars. This is extremely misleading.

Instead, as soon as I submitted my order online, I received a call from the customer service department informing me that it was a membership for which would be billed monthly. I told the agent I had no interest in it and wanted to cancel. He told me that I could call to cancel once I received the product if I did not like it.

I received the product 13 days after I ordered it. I immediately called since the condition in the package is that you have to call to get a number in order to send the product back. The customer service line was closed due to Thanksgiving, so I called on the Monday. Another note is that this "14-day" risk free trial starts from the day you order the product. Needless to say, I received the product on day 13 and with the Thanksgiving Holiday, it was already beyond the 14 days.

The agent I spoke to told me that instead of going through the hassle and cost of sending the product back, I could keep it for $19.95 plus taxes which I accepted. I asked when my credit card would be billed, and he told me that night. This was true - however, I was not billed $19.95 as I was told, but rather $94!

I am now going to try to get this refunded and the correct amount billed, but as you can see, this entire process is misleading, manipulative, and a huge pain in the neck to deal with. I have obviously learned my lesson the hard way - I hope readers will not make the same mistake I did.

Unauthorized Charges
Buyer beware. I tried the free "trial" and so far the company has charged over 160.00 on subscription fees. I thought I read all the fine print but apparently ny magnifying glass was not pwerful enough.

Unauthorized Charges
I recieved the product 10 days before the 14 day trial period ended. When I called because I was under the assumption the 14 day trial began when I recieved the product, I was told by a very rude customer service person named Dana that the trial began the day the product was ordered. How can you start using something the minute it is ordered, you need to recieve the product before you can begin using it. Then When I told them I wanted to cancel and return the product I was told I couldn't return it for a refund. All I want is the 79.95 the deducted from my account without permission and they can have their product back. This company is very misleading.

POSSIBLE SCAM
i dont know about it being a scam... i read the fine print and it states that if you decide not to cancel the trial, you are conveniently enrolled in their membership... and you will be charge such and such amount and your first order will be sent out such and such a date... scam? no... sneaky? yes... i had already ordered when i found this print... i was looking for a customer service number because i expected both shipments to be 1.95... which wasnt and thats when i stumbled on the automatic membership...

teeth whitener
On Aug. 29th I came across a compelling website offering advice on how to get whiter teeth by using 2 different products. One of the products is South Beach Brite. After ordering a FREE (just pay shipping and handling )"trial" product on-line a confirmation e-mail arrived but I could not open the referenced website. This made me suspicious and I went on the internet to find the website. To my surprise I saw headings that listed complaints about the company and the fraudulent way they conduct business. It seems that you not only get charged the 4.95 shipping and handling but have additional product sent that is charged to the cc as well . Thank goodness others have taken the time to tell about their experiences with this company because I was able to report this scam on the very same day to the fraud dept. of my credit card company and cancel my card. Due to it being a weekend and no way to contact the company I had to wait until the 31st to notify the company that I was cancelling my free trial order and they must not send any further product as my credit card number was not in effect anymore!! I am angry that I was duped and that I have the hassle of getting a new credit card but am thankful for sites like this one that inform others of these kind of rip-off companies. Stay away from one!!!
