We purchased a building in Victoria Texas. The previous owner had an ad with Yellowbook. Well, the Yellowbook "collection" department starts to call us and tell us that we are liable for their bill. We explain that we only purchased the building, we are not responsible for any unpaid bills. Then, a Yellowbook salesman comes to our business and offers us an ad, and tells us that we are not liable for any past due bill the previous owner had, and that this will be a new contract in our company name. We pay the full year. About 2 weeks later we recieve a bill in the mail with a 90 days past due balance of $405.46. They managed to put the other companies past due bill in our name and send us a bill for it. Trying to talk to Yellowbook about this problem was a joke, they told us that we are liable for the bill. Someone please tell me how this is our debt? We have good credit and would like it to stay that way without paying someone elses debt.
