Called by Mary at Southern Star Merchant services for signing up for VISA machine to use with our business. Stated that it would be 6 mos. free and if we didn't like it we could return machine without any problems. We did receive machine and did not know that we had also signed up a 3 year agreement with the processing company. We were told that this wasn't an agreement however just needed the information to get signed up but still could return machine in 6 months and no charges. We did receive machine that did not work. We were told by Mary to say yes that we had been oriented even though we had not and were in the process. Upon first orientation, it wasa found that the machine did not work. We were sent another machine and to no avail it did not work. After 4 weeks of trying to get in touch with Southern Star merchant services, we did reach them by physically going to their address and gave them the machine back and they stated that everything would be cancelled. We have talked with processing company and are in the process of cancelling processing agreement however now the company that financed this VISA machine(which we did not know there was another company involved) has started calling and harrassing stating that they want their money even though we dont' have the machine. We did cancel our checking due to they continued to take 2 and 3 cents out at different times without our authorization. They also took out 1 and 2 cents out of another account that was not given any authorization for money to come out unless a card is run and there was no card run at that time. This is fraud and the woman (mary) was very misleading and sold us false goods. I did ask about the agreement that I thought that I was signing for Southern Star merchant services (which I found out was for another financing company) and Mary stated that we could cancel before or at the 6 mos. if we did not want the VISA machine.
