SCPM has been managing our townhome community since the beginning, transferring from managing for the builder to the present HOA. Overall, SCPM does a decent job, but there is room for improvement. Their general representative for our community has shown superb self-restraint when dealing with outraged residents and board members, but he is known to either forget to follow up to residents' questions or has outright ignored them. By any measure, he is an employee of the BOD and, as such, tends to bond, and some say manipulate, them in ways that do not truly support the community as a whole. Some suspect it is because he'd rather avoid confrontation or upset the BOD who could vote to hire another property management company. In any event, residents have little confidence in his desire to serve the community rather than impress the board. The question begs: how will he flip-flop when a new board is elected with members whose egos do not need to be stroked and coddled?
