Special T Travel - Illegal Business Practices and False Advertsing
This company called me almost daily for months on end after signing up for a raffle at a local convention. I told them multiple times to stop calling, but they never did. I finally listened to the sales pitch and my boyfriend and I decided to purchase an Orlando vacation from them. While on the phone (speaker phone) and after agreeing to purchase the Orlando package, the female salesperson transferred me to another salesperson, a male. The male salesperson told us that they had just had a cancellation on a Las Vegas Honeymoon suite package at Hard Rock Hotel and if we wanted to have that vacation, then they would add it on for another $50, and we could use both packages in the next year and a half. We thought at the time that it was a little strange to offer a specific suite at a specific hotel for an unspecified date, but we agreed under the conditions that we would be getting the Honeymoon suite at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. When the package arrived, there was not anything mentioned about the specific package we were offered, but we assumed it would be taken care of when we made the reservation. In September 2009, we made our Orlando reservation and also asked about the Las Vegas reservation. At that time, they told us they would book us in either the Excalibur Hotel or the Sahara. Neither of these hotels is very nice nor would we ever chose to stay in either, and we would not have purchased the trip if this is what we had known that those were the hotels which we were going to stay. When we asked about the Hard Rock Hotel, one of the agents stated that she listened to the recorded tape, and we were never promised the Hard Rock Hotel. Both my boyfriend and I were on the line, and this is what we were promised, not by the regular salesperson, but the male salesperson we were transferred to. Not only did the salesperson mislead and lie to us about the package we were promised, the salesperson we spoke to in September/October accused us of lying. Based on these circumstances, we are not interested in going on either vacation and are not interested in doing business with a company with deceptive business practices. Now were are stuck with two packages we do not want with a company we do not trust doing business with. If they call potential customers non-stop, lie to their customers, and turn around and accuse their customers of lying, then I can only imagine what type of company this would be and what kind of a disaster our vacations would be. I don't need to experience it. We have contacted them multiple times, and they have refused a refund and will not return the multiple e-mails we have submitted.
