Inaccessible website becomes scam
I purchased the "9 dollar fare club" of Spirit airlines because doing so allows you to get cheaper rates on flights and checked bags. The only way to get the cheaper checked bag fare is to log in as a member on their website. I've tried many, many times (at least 100 times) over a period of more than a week, at different times of the day. Every time I try I get a message saying "Our website is experiencing a high volume of visitors. Please try again and accept our apologies for this inconvenience." I called to tell them of this problem and was told to keep trying because that's the only way I can get the discount. When benefits offered (for a price) end up not being available in practice, that is for all practical purposes a scam.

Customer Serivce
I was actually being nice and asking for assistance. The first time they hung up on me. The second time they placed me on hold for 40 minutes then spoke to me for 1 minute and then placed me on hold again... I believe they thought I would just hang up. This is not finished. I am so dissatisfied with this company and their service. Melissa, I will not be flying with them ever again and I will warn anyone who tells me they are thinking about booking a ticket with them. Grr. I'm soo ticked. I'm calling BofA tomorrow to dispute the first charge. I've been treated so rudely by customer service in my entire life.I already wrote to the corp office. Ohh great, the email they provide to send them any concerns comes back failed delivery. What a GREAT COMPANY! >:(

Refund on creditcard
Hi my name is Irene Reyes. I booked a round trip flight on spirit airline though cheapoair.com on 6/7/2010 I was to fligh to fort lauderdale on 6/9/2010 which I did and I was to return to NY. on 6/17/2010. as you know they went on strike a day or two after I arrived in florida. I made a huge sacrifice to make that trip since it was a personal trip to go see my elderly mother who I felt needed my help. I had to be back here in NY. On 6/18/2010 for many different personal reasons. I had to borrow money to take the cheapest flight I found back to NY. on delta airline. I had to pay as much to come back as I payed on spirit both ways but since I kept calling them and they said that they were still on strike and they din't know until when the strike would go on. I told them to cancel my flight for 6/17/2010 because I had to here on 6/18/2010 and I could't stay there without knowing when they would go off the strike. they said they would refund my money within 7- 10 business days. today was the tenth day and they still haven't put the money back in my card. I, ve called them several times and I, ve called cheapoair they keep telling me different stories but the money is still not on my card. I told one gentlemen I spoke to that they were very fast to take the money from the customer but very slow to return it and he told me that they have pay their employees But that rest of us have to eat pay rent and bills also. thanks

Scammers
We booked a round trip vacation for four people from Detroit to San Francisco on Spirit Airline for my mother's 76 birthday. When we went to return home we found that Spirit had discontinued service from SF to Detroit, leaving us stranded in SF.

In order to get home we were required to purchase one-way tickets on Northwest at an cost of $750.00 each. After trying every avenue available to me to contact Spirit, I have given up. They took our money for a flight (plus baggage costs) that they knew was not going to be available. We feel that they should reimburse us the second leg (plus baggage costs) of the trip, as well as the cost to fly home on Northwest.

This has been a very trying and emotional ordeal.

lack of customer service
I have tried for 2 weeks to obtain an answer about a name problem on a reservation and have had no response. The reservation specialists say they can't help me, the supervisor was useless, 2 emails and an e-mail to the president have gone unanswered and so has a letter to the corporate HQ. There is NO customer service at Spirit.

ticket cancellation/refund
Within 24 hours of purchaseing airline tickets from spirit airline, my mother called and cancell a roundtrip ticket for her daughter who would not be going. Spirit airline issue a cancellation number and promised her a credit in the amount of 99.00. However, neither my mother or sister has received any credit from spirit airline. we have followed up with calls and complaints. But spirit airlines refused to issue any refund or credit.

LOST/DELAYED LUGGAGE
I flew with Spirit air from LAX to Jamaica however my luggage didn't arrive. I was without clothes for 7 days - I had to buy my clothes from the resort and they promised to reimburse $25 per day for delayed luggage. Off course I didn't hear anything from them, they delivered my luggage 15 days later with half of my clothing missing. I filed a claim with the them, left several messages, you can never speak with a live rep. that handles claims. They didn't even send us a letter or acknowledging receipt of my claim or anything to that matter. It's been 3 months and I'm about to file a complaint with BBB. I had a horrible experience with Spirit air and I don't recomend anyone to travel with this airline. Extremely poor customer service and horrible experience.

Ripp OFF
Spirit airways has the worst customer service,
I booked a ticket for my husband and son, upon returning they were unable to put my son who is a baby (26 months old) on the flight on an international flight, from Kingston JA to Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International airport. They knowledge of my son's DOB prior to purchasing the ticket because I specifically stated his age and wanted to know exactly what are my options.
I spoke with customer service by the name of Monica on 07/25/2008, who charged my credit card.
To my surprise my son was unable to return home on the flight because of their negligence. I was on the telephone pleading to them no one helped instead they put me on hold for two hours only to be disconnected.
I feel like I've been ripped off, and this situation should get recognized, because it should not happen to anyone else.
Spirit Airlines should pay for their negligence.

No name change on ticket!
I purchased 16 tickets on line from Spirit on my credit card for a group going on a medical mission trip to Nicaragua. Because the web site only allows to buy 9 at a time I made 3 different purchases (some were needed for another date). I made a mistake and repeated one of the couples names. (Sam and Ruthie Shaw) The name should have been Charles and Martha Warren. I knew I made the mistake as soon as I pushed enter but there was no way on the sight to go back or verify. I called the number on the sight and 3 hours after waiting on hold I got to talk with someone in the Philippines. They said they could not change the name.They could cancel and give me a voucher but it cost 70.00 each. I was very upset because we had purchased all those tickets and they could not help me with this. I could understand that you can't change the name after so many weeks or close to the flight but I called immediately. It seems someone needs a little common sense there. I guess I will call back and loose my 140.00 since that is my only choice but I doubt I will ever use your airline again.

No flight
We booked 4 round trip tickets from Detroit to San Francisco and back. When we went to come from from SF to Detroit we found that Spirit had discontinued service to Detroit and were left with no option but to pay $750.00 each to fly home on another airline.
Spirit took our money for the return flight and baggage costs and
now we are out over $1000. 00 each. All averages of contacting Spirit have been to no avail.
