They claimed to have found my dog in the highway, instead of checking with the houses near where they found this dog they took the dog home with them. I frantically checking with my neighbors and another "rescue" in the area had no luck finding my dog. I searched the Anima Control (pound) they have not had a dog of such breed come in (very rare). A friend tells me they see the dog on Craigs List in Pets as found dog. I call these people and they tell me " I would owe for grooming, vet and whatever else maybe involved". I then try to get my dog, they tell me she went to a Schnauzer Rescue in Phoenix. I called the local Sheriff and they tell Springerpaw Ranch to get a hold of the people that they have given the dog to, and let them know we want the dog back. I get a "restricted" call from someone telling me "due to kennel issues" I cannot get your dog back wait till tomorrow, then I willingly let her know that I will let the Sheriff's office know this and she proceeds to tell me she doesn't want to get involved, she will turn the dog over to Animal Control in the morning. I head over to animal control at 9:00 am, when they open, they tell me that they do not have my dog. It is a very rare breed and no one has turned in a dog like that. I call the Sheriff's office back, they tell me to go to court to put a Civil Suit against them. I proceed with that then I get a call from the Animal Control telling me that they have my dog in Mesa/Tempe (over 100 miles from where they took or stole my dog.) An Animal Veterinary Hospital (also rescue) have turned over my dog to Animal control, the person claimed that this dog had switched rescues over 3 times. ????? I paid a nice fine for not having a license etc. (Which I am totally guilty for) however, if this is a Rescue isn't it in the best means to find the owner of this dog???? Because of there rare breed, I think they had her sold for a good dollar amount, and had trouble getting her back, when they had the owner/sheriff's office involved they paniced and turned her over to the Animal Control (pound). Warning to all people with expensive dogs...
