Simply the worst customer service experience of my entire life
Simply the worst customer service experience of my entire life. At every opportunity for a bad interaction, they came through with the worst possible outcome. Terrible.

Awful, awful, awful
Unfortunately, I've been with Sprint PCS for several years (about 8), not because I'm exceptionally happy with them, but because that's just about the only provider that gets service in the rural area my family lives in and because every time I make even a minor change on my plan, the 2 year agreement is renewed, its like a neverending nightmare. I've had several minor problems throughout my history with Sprint, but the worst by far was when I moved from Kansas to Nebraska and tried to switch everything up here. All I wanted to do was change the two phones on my plan from KS phone numbers to NE phone numbers. Apparently, it isn't that simple, the NE offices don't offer the same plans that the KS offices have, so we had to completely change plans, which was fine with me, the newer one actually worked better for me. I knew we would have to renew the 2 year agreement and I was ok with that...that's when the nightmare started. Because I was in essence cancelling one plan and starting a whole new one, the computers automatically charged me the early termination fee for both phones, which I was told would both be refunded since I wasn't actually leaving the company. They refunded one of these charges, but the other one was still left on the account, which therefore put me over the spending limit every month when my bill came due, causing my service to be turned off until it was under the limit. It took me an ENTIRE YEAR for them to remove this charge after having arguments with several customer service representatives and going into the Sprint store. I finally got it removed and everything was fine for a couple months until I reached the point that I had had the same phone for 2 years and was eligible for the credit to upgrade my phones. I got a new phone, got it activated, everything was fine, then we tried to get another new phone and activate it on the other line. I thought this went off without a hitch until I noticed on my bill the next month another $250 early termination charge. I have no idea why this would have been put on there, but of course it took several phone calls to customer service to get this charge removed (which, by the way, just about every time you call they offer a "free service", which means they'll give you say a free month of text messages or something of that sort and if you don't call to have it removed before the free period has expired, it will be permanently added to your account and you'll be charged for it, then once it gets to the point where you're charged for it every month and try to remove it then, it'll renew the 2 year agreement...sneaky ba$tards). I would love nothing more than to just drop Sprint all together, but of course it'll cost me $500 since there are two phones and I just don't have that extra money at this point. I read the article where they gave 1, 000 customers the boot because they were calling customer service and complaining too much...maybe I should start calling customer service more often...

Fraudulent charges
I loved my Nextel and had no problems until they merged with Sprint! Since the merge my bills are screwed up, they want new deposits; even though they just gave mine back to me ! All because I had called in and merged my plan and my husbands plan into one...supposedly lower monthly plan. All I keep hearing is well maam that is Sprints policy...I didn't sign up with Sprint !!! I signed up with Nextel!!! I dumped Sprint 5 years ago for fraudelent charges to my bill. Now the double billed me, demanded new deposits and didn't honor their original price agreement, plus it took 2 months for them to switch everything properly.

I think I should have a choice to opt out of my carrier without penalty when they become someone else and you are now left with a company u didn't want to deal with.

I told them I wanted to get out and they said it would be $400, $200 for me and $200 for my husband. I woukld drop them in a heartbeat if I had the money.

Just so everyone knows I told the sales guy when I called that I had lost my job and wanted to get a cheaper plan and he said this would solve my problems...yeah now instead of $60 for my husbands bill and $60 for mine with the double bill and the deposits and all we're talking over $400...way to help your customers when they're down!!! GO SPRINT... to you know where! NEXTEL how could you do this to me???
