Everything.
Sprint was my first cell phone company as I was moving to a new town for college. My best friend and I signed up on the same account so that our monthly bill would be lower. Our bill was OUTRAGEOUS every month. Our bill would be $300-$500 a month! For two girls! We would always end up paying the bill in full because the idiots in the store couldn't give us any information or explain to us as to why our bill was over each month, and of course we are stuck in a stupid contract. Eventually my friend and I separated our accounts, which also renewed each of our contracts, hoping that this would solve our billing situation.
NOPE! My bill was still at least $200-$400 each month. The bill statement and the bill total never correlated. Each month that I got my bill I would end up going to Sprint demanding an explanation of my bill and how they came up with that total. NO ONE, AND I REPEAT NO ONE could explain my bill to me. I continued paying until I was so fed up (and becoming poor) that I realized I would be better off paying a one time payment of $300 cancellation fee instead of $300 a month. So I canceled with Sprint and found a happy relationship with T-Mobile.
THAT'S NOT ALL... It has now been almost two years that I have canceled from Sprint's awful existence on this earth... and this strange number starts calling me for two weeks between 4:00 a.m.- 6:00 a.m. I rarely answer calls from numbers I am not familiar with, but I started getting really pissed off when this number would call and wake me from my beauty sleep, so I ended up calling the number back. A collections agency was calling me on behalf of Sprint for a charge of $60.
I told the agency that I am no longer a customer of Sprint and I don't know what they are talking about. They gave me a confirmation number to the account and I called Sprint.
After waiting on the line for thirty minutes I was put on the line with the most stupid guy I've ever been forced to have a conversation with. I told him my situation and asked what the charges were for. He told me that he was not allowed to access that information. "Then what are you getting paid for???!!!" He hung up on me and I had to call and wait another 30 minutes, hoping to speak with someone a little more competent. When I finally got through, I was given the same excuse telling me that they could not access that information (even though I had confirmed various birthdates, social security numbers etc. to prove that I was the person on the account) I then politely asked to speak to someone of a higher position.
Told me the same damn thing and was just making guesses as to why they are charging me. I said "how would it make sense if I just came up, knocked on your door, and demanded $60 for no reason, and then threaten you with collectors if you refuse to pay?" He didn't have an answer.
I then waltz myself to a Sprint location (after my transformation into superbitch) and practically told two people who worked there how I hate their company, and when he asked for my social security number I replied "I'm not stupid. I will give you the last four digits of my social but only that, because I know that your company is notorious for creating fraudulent accounts by using social security numbers that are not authorized to be used." He then proceeded to remove all charges and gave me a receipt with a confirmation number to give to the collections agency.
Anyway...then I go home and call the collections agency who informed me that the bill from Sprint would begin affecting my credit as of October 13th. I call Sprint and they told me that for some reason, they cannot send information to the collections agency letting them know that my bill has been taken care of until after 90 days. I don't know what to do and it stresses me out just thinking about it.
Warning for all users of Sprint, or people who are considering this company for their personal phone service, DON'T DO IT! I payed a $300 cancellation fee, thinking that I wouldn't even be allowed to cancel without paying all final bills, never received another bill from Sprint, but got a rude awakening 2 years later by collections. Even though I won't have to pay for the actual bill it will be affecting my credit. Thanks Sprint, great way to run a business.

Inappropriate Behavior by a Customer Service Agent
I am unsure of where to write regarding my own sprint complaint, unlike many it is not directly related to my bill but rather some extremely inappropriate behavior on the part of a male customer service rep during a recent call to set up an automatic payment in which he proceeded to ask me where I was located, how far it was from the city he worked in, how long of a drive it would be to my home, if I ever visited the city in which he worked, verifying my home address and telephone number on more than one occasion keeping me at bay with a ridiculously long call all the while, when I became obviously uncomfortable he simply laughed it off an ended the call quickly. I am unsettled by this persons inappropriate behavior, I am apprehensive calling into customer service again or writing to an entry level employee and divulging any personal information to further this complaint but I am far more uncomfortable knowing this person an other unsupervised unstable employees such as him are privie to this information as well. I would welcome any advice and direction with this issue.
Thank you,
Sincerely Unsettled

Rip-off!
The complaint begins in 2003. As a service member deploying to Iraq, I cancelled my cell phone service. A trusted friend was watching my bills while I wa gone, and reported paying the final statement. I heard nothing further until a phone call in 2006 from a collection company that would not explain where the bill cam from, but would settle at 60% of the original fee if I just gave them a credit card number (scam?). I asked for the bill to be sent via mail. The cllector stated I had an unpaid bill with SPRINT from 2004! I called Sprint, who assured me this was false, since they had no record of the bill or account. 16 months later me credit score dips due to this collection company posting the "debt" with all three credit agencies. I become furious and spek with legal assistance in the Army. They ask me to get a statement from Sprint showing I have a zero balance before we can proceed. After calling Spring the second time (October 2007), I speak with a different employee who tells me that I had a debt, but tha it was a substatially lower amount, and that it hasn't been farmed out to collection company. She tells me I can settle it today. In deisbelief that this happened to begin with, I pay on an account that I closed in 2003. I am assured the invoice will arrive in 10 days, and then I can get the collection company off my back. The statement never arrives. I call Sprint back, they tell me it was sent to the wron address by mistake, and they will fix it. Another month goes by, I repeat the same process. A month later, I call back, only to be told that they have no record of that transaction. I tell the customer service representative that I am not getting off the phone until they fax me a receipt or statement from the payment I made nearly three months prior. The lady told me they don't have a fax machine... Then she said she wasn;t authorized to use it... When I asked to talk to someone who could use it, I was hung up on. Now it's Sep 2008, and despite at least a dozen other attempts, Sprint has not refunded my $300, nor provided a receipt, nor a statement, which makes the debt collectors claim sound awfully legitamite, which means it is still on my credt report.
Sprint has the worst customer service of any company I have ever heard of, and I tell everyone I meet this story to stop them from working with this company.

Fraud and cheating
I went to the official sprint store to get my phone fixed. It got fixed but anthony kindly suggested about upgrading, I was eligible. I am not the primary but I am on the notes that state that I had permission to upgrade, plus I had the code they needed. I had left earlier to wait for my phone to be fixed and thats when it was suggested. As Im there, testing my old but fixed phone, he checks and said 'Sorry you cant upgrade b/c you're not the primary.'
'But I am on the notes.'
'yes but its illegal to do so.'
I was then given the Customer service number to call and talk to them and I DID called. I spoke to the lady on the line and asked her why I couldn't upgrade and if it was illegal.
'No its not, you're on the notes and you can upgrade, even if the primary isn't there.' I was given permission.
I then told her that the guy Anthony said it was illegal and she then wanted to talk to him. I gave him my phone, which had gotten fixed and he talks to her. I hear her tell him 'she can upgrade and its not illegal.' With that he hung up on her and turned to me.
'I'm STILL not gonna give you an upgrade b/c its illegal. Now you can open another account and I can get you a new phone.'
I told him politely that I didn't need a new account and was given the right to upgrade, he even checked the system and I was on the notes saying I could upgrade. Then he calls 'mario' to come talk to his customer. The manager said the same thing 'its illegal and you can open a new account with a new 2 yr agreement yadda yadda. Plus 'policy changed not to long ago that states that its illegal for me to upgrade if I am not the primary and have been given the green to do so.
'The policy changed a few seconds ago? Sorry but I'm not gonna open a new account.'
'Well in that case you need to leave.' He tells the clerk 'I give you every right to kick her out.' And I was escorted out. Now I was being told 2 things at the same time and I am just as stumped as ever. This wasn't the first time this happened to me.
Several months ago At a sprint store in samsclub store I was also told that I couldn't upgrade b/c it was illegal, and the primary was with me. Ive had it basically with being told 2 different things and their wacky policy.
I did obtain their card and names at the store. Is it illegal? I don't know.

Requested my contact name be removed several times, repeated calls - two and three times a day. Working in my beauty shop this morning - called three times and hung up, disrupting my work, 4th time I requested my contact name be removed again. Calling between 8 am - 8 pm. Requesting an investigation immediately and legal action taken against these people.

Bad service
They do not provide any customer service even though we have been with this company for more than 7 years. When they were Nextel they at least new what customer service was, I never had 2 spend 3 hours calling back until I got the answer I wanted, it didn't take 2 years to shut off an unused number that they have been getting 6.95 a month for and have conveniently miss placed the notes on my requests. And It has taken 4 months and untold phone calls to get a return credited to our account.

Bad phone
I have had the Sprint Instinct phone for 3 weeks now and have been on the phone with Customer Service and Tech Support in excess of 9 hours trying to resolve issues with the phone.
Phone calls will come into my phone and will not ring they end up going directly to Voice Mail instead. I now have a ticket opened to look at this consistent issue and have a request in for upper management to call me back on Tuesday 8/19/08 and try to get this annoying issue resolved. There CS had no clue how to fix it and I have talked with Supervisors about this also. I have also been told there are updates available for the phone when I call in and it never seems to complete the update correctly.
I am very frustrated and about to return the phone.

Bad Service
When I first switched to nextel I had a lot of problems but I decided to stay with them since I had agreed to a two year contract. When am contract was more than half finish they called me and said that if I renewed the same contract that I had then they would credit my account the amount that it was due at the time so I would not have a bill. After I had agreed I didn’t have problems but then all of a sudden I was going over my minutes every time I would call a rep would give me a different story. I had talked to 8 different reps in a two week time is how bad it was. They would always change the story and at one time one of the reps told me that I was right she seen where they had messed up that was after placing me on hold three and four times to "speak w the supervisor and get everything taken care of". Once my two year contract was finished my contract was changed and when I called them about it I was told that the rep that had called me about renewing my contract did not put everything in the notes. I had started to see a pattern that sprint reps only put what they wanted to put in notes because I had heard it too many times. One of the supervisors told me that he would reverse my contract so that I was no longer in the one year I wouldn’t have to pay they $200 cancellation fee and they would put the credit back onto my account and I would only have to pay that. Once I received my final bill as they called it the $200 fee was still there and I had to call them once more to get this straighten out. Once that was taken care of I received an email a couple of days later saying that my account was going to go to collections because it was pass due. I called to see why because my bill was not due for another two weeks. The rep claimed that it was due to me having a pass due balance. When I asked him why it had never been done before when I had a pass due balance or is it now because I had terminated my services with them. The rep tried to say that it wasn’t because I had terminated my services. I believe that nextel and sprint now has the worst customer service and they are always messing up your bill. When you go over your minutes they look for the numbers that you use the most and say those phone calls were the reason. I'm not going to continue to be cheated out of my money and sit here and argue with a phone company three and four times a day. If you have to do that then maybe they need to relook there services and customer services.
