My mortgage was sold to Bank of America by Countrywide. I have consistently paid my mortgage payments on time. I am not behind what so ever. I live in a townhouse in which the Homeowners association threatened to start forclosure proceedings if I didn't catch up on my mortgage. They even went as far as filing the papers with the county, before I believed that they had this authority. Well I went to Bank of America to find out if they could do this if there was anything that could be done to stop it, or if they could assist me in anyway. Bank of America told me to fax them all of the paperwork that I recieved from the Homeowners association regarding this. I never heard anything back from Bank of America so I contacted a lawyer who told me that the HOA could do this and that the best thing to do was to work out a payment plan which I did and has been paying them faithfully since. Well Bank of America never ever responded to my request for assistance but started charging legal fees, and attorney fees to my account. I have called, e-mailed and written letter questioning what these fees are for given my house was never ever forclosed on they never assisted me with my situation and I have paid my mortgage payment consistently. They have transferred me around at least five times everytime I called and no one can assist me last night they called me and stated that my payment was behind and there were fees attached I asked again what were they for. Given that I was talking to some idiot in India who told me I had called the wrong department I felt pretty upset. No one at Bank of America will tell me what they fees are for they will not take them off and they are not able to tell me who continues to add them to my account. I am not sure what I can do but I hope I can some help with this soon.
