I was lured into this trap while watching Rachel Ray around Thanksgiving 2009. She invited her television viewing audience to go to her website for free product. Emblazoned across the middle of her site were two offers for two different products both offered for a free sample with only a .99 shipping fee. The .99 was in an approximate 120 point font. If there were any mention of a subscription fee then it was definately deceptive in nature as it must have appeared in an 8 point or smaller font.
From here my story is the same as all others. My account was charged $80, I received the number 866/309-6510 from my bank, called, cancelled what I had never knowingly subscribed to, was given an RMA cancellation number and have now as of this date (January 5, 2010) spoken to approximately ten different representatives who (A-395, A-225, A-201, etc., etc.) all repeat the annoyingly same set of responses.
I have contacted the Florida Attorney General, Mr. McCollum and did receive an automated reply acknowledging receipt of my email. I don't anticipate ever being reimbursed for my $80 loss. But I will make it a point to doggedly pursue every angle possible to assist in the shutdown of this cancerous organization, who appear hellbent on stealing away the last fiber of trust that Joe A. Citizen has in truth in advertising.
Now what I want to know is, how difficult is it for someone, anyone, to take a drive over to 3007 Greene Street in Hollywood, Florida and see what's going on. Or how about just who is on the receiving end of these wire transfers that are taking place all across the country. Follow the money. Is it really that hard? Is anybody listening. . . . .
