My husband was on ssi for almost 20 years... in january 2006 we got a letter saying he was going to be removed and that we had an appointment with a ss advocate... we went to see this advocate and he said don't worry... this wasn't your fault we let u slip thru the cracks and that even if he decided to remove my husband from ssi he could appeal and would have a year to get prepared... find a job etc... january 2007 my husband is removed from... he did get a job in november 2006 so we thought things would be ok... he got laid off from that job... then we did our taxes for the year 2006... we were getting back 1600 dollars... we thought great... a little money to work with while my husband looks for a job... nope.. the government hijacked it saying that we owed them for that last year my husband was on ssi... 4 months later we are homeless... we ended up in texas... my husband got a job in september 2007... lost it in february 2008... i cant believe this how are we gonna pay the bills... i sit down to do the taxes... omg honey... we are getting back 3, 900 dollars.. then the smile turns into a frown... no were not the government is gonna take it again.. we file a waiver in hopes that since we are poverty they will approve it... NOPE denied because we are bringing in to much money??? wtf... 628 dollars a month.. MONTH is too much money??? our rent is 400 dollars.. our last electric bill was 235... um in my math thats 635 dollars.. what about toilet paper, diapers, shampoo... what i guess since were poverty white trash... we don't need to was our hair... WHAT THE F*CK IS THE MATTER WITH THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT!
