I just bought a car from the Mounds View Motor Co (used to be Saturn of Mounds View) and after only 8 days I already have to fix $750 worth of stuff. They do an inspection on all of the vehicles and they have to meet safety standards. Well my mechanic says that all of the tires are very worn and showing their wear bars and need to be replaced before winter (so anytime now seeing how snow is in the forecast) and one of the tires is "cupped". I don't understand how that's safe when one of the inspections they do, they look at the tires and they have to have so much tread left to pass the inspection. There's no way they did. The sway bar is also needing to be replaced but I'm sure that was not part of the inspection so I would expect to have to pay for that myself. I have emailed them, talked to them and it doesn't matter. The dealership is the one that brought it to my mechanic and the general manager Vicki Rogers lied about their findings. She told me it had "a little tread wear". To me there's a huge different between a little tread wear and what the mechanic said. I honestly feel this car was never through their "guaranteed inspection". I don't want anyone else to get screwed on this. Something major could be missed and they could end up with a very unsafe vehicle because they too trust the dealership is doing what they promised. I should have gone to Car Hop.
