Warranty Scam
Stainsafe is indeed a scam. I bought a leather sofa and loveseat from Value City Furniture in Indianapolis on 6/6/08. On 11/20/09 we noticed a rip on the side of the sofa seat that was caused by a nail protruding from the sofa frame. I called up Stainsafe and after 20 minutes on the phone with a claim rep they told me the claim is not serviceable since the damage is due to a manufacturing defect and is not covered. I called up Value City and they told me the manufacturer’s warranty is only valid until 1 year from the data of purchase. Value City representative told me that “Stainsafe tries to find a loophole to deny your claim”. I was stunned and I asked the store rep, “If you know this fact then why would you still be selling this warranty to your customers? Are you telling me that next time when I come to your store to buy a product and one of your salesperson is trying to sell me Stainsafe warranty as a great thing to have, they are actually lying?”
I think it is illegal for Stainsafe to deny such claims and unethical for Value City Furniture to be promoting this warranty in their stores since they are aware of Stainsafe’s deceptive business practices.

Rip Off!
This company makes you jump through so many hoops you will feel like a circus act! My leather sofa ($159.99 stainsafe warranty) developed a rip. I called in June, registered a request for a repair, gave them invoice information and was told that I would hear from a rep in 2-4 weeks. A month later nothing so I called back. Lo and behold they had cancelled my claim as I had not submitted a copy of the invoice and 5 digital pictures. Problem was that they never had asked for this. I work with digital photography as a part of my job so this request I would have remembered. They did not believe me and said that if the convo was recorded they would possibly reopen the claim and would call me in 2 business days. A week later nothing. I called back and this time they said the claim had been re-closed as I had not submitted the copy of the invoice. Of course they had not asked for this. I faxed the invoice today but am not holding my breath. The rip that was originally small has not become huge and may not be repairable. The phone "technicians" are rude. This is clearly a very bad investment. Too bad I did not read about this company before

Scam on service policy!
Warranty protection always denied. Not I have to send 5 photo to them that there is no other damage to the leather sofa.
Poor service!
