We purchased the Stainsafe Warranty 5 years ago...they are a complete scam!!! Our first year we had our couch I emailed stainsafe about a stain on my couch. no response, so i called them about a week later. well, since I told them I emailed them about a week later, my claim was denied because they failed to respond to my email and it was past the 5 days you are supposed to contact them.
June 30th, 2008-my son had a nose bleed. 3 small spots of blood i could not remove. so stainsafe gave me a claim number and said the tech would contact me soon. a week went by, i don' t hear anything. so i called. they gave me the tech's number and told me to wait until july 14th. i tried calling the tech numerous times...no response. i even left a message! i called stainsafe. they tried calling the tech. no response! so they assigned me a new tech and told me i had to wait another 5-7 business days. i spoke with the supervisor, she apologized several times and assured me that they would send out the best tech in the area. never heard anything after 7 days. finally after calling and complaining, then calling the tech myself, a tech came out the next day...this would be august 1st!!! the tech came out and refused to clean my couch. he said he didn't want to ruin the color of my couch because it is a cream color. stainsafe asked him to return to my house to clean it, he refused. so what happened next??? they denied me for multiple stains!!! although they knew and have on their records that i reported 3 small stains.
so i called value city furniture who sold it to me. the supervisor i spoke with recommended that i take legal action...because she had to. it took her two years to get them to fix her furniture! SO WHY ARE FURNITURE COMPANIES SELLING THIS WARRANTY WHEN THEY KNOW!!! the supervisor said she would call stainsafe for me last week and she would call me back as soon as possible. have i heard back from her...NO!!!
