No reply to request
We have requested Standard Bank more than a week ago to cancel our credit card.
No attention is paid to our numerous requests despite SB's slogan Faster, Longer, Stronger
leaving us no choice but to draw attention to their appalling service level which leaves us vulnerable to credit card fraud.

Poor / Slow / NO Service
I cannot begin to explain my disgust in Standard Bank with the pathetic service and turn-around time on a home-loan application that was submitted on 14 April 2010. Due to Standard Bank's slow / no-service we ended up losing a property which we have set our hearts on. Standard Bank failed to give me any answer before my cut-off date for bond approval after I have made several attempts from my side to speed-up the process. The weirdest part is that we lost the property to a mysterious "cash purchaser" 1 working day after our time for bond approval lapsed. What is even more sinister is that the cash offer was exactly R300 000.00 less than Standard Bank's valuation of R1 625 000.00 - the cash offer was R1 325 000.00? I would not be surprised if there is a connection between this cash purchaser and Standard Bank - all is just too damn incidental. The last reason I received for this bad service was that there was 81c discrepancy between my pay slip and the deposit in my bank account - no ITC listing or poor credit scoring of any kind. Standard Bank only started stepping up their service once I phoned the manager of the Credit Department, a Debbie Mirfin on 2010/04/29.

Unhappy with the service
Standard has been sending me from pillar to post, I can't seem to get any form of help with my complain.
I am unhappy with the service I received
My account was closed without the bank notifying me. when i inquired i was told that no one knows the reason for closure and the responsible person. Salaries at work were processed today, this means i'm not getting paid because i have no account. Deposits and debits were made last week - again guess what?!, they all bounced. Now I've incurred unnecessary costs and penalties from my creditors. The bank can't re-open the same account they are telling me to go and open a new account. Now that is a huge inconvenience cause i have to then send new details to everyone, considering that it's the end of the month i will be penalized even further because of bouncing debits. I'm seriously seeking legal advise and very upset, angry and emotionally unstable because of the bad service from this bank. I want my old account to be reopened and all the penalty fees paid by the bank cause there's no way I'm gonna pay for their stupid mistakes.
