Hi there,
I would like to inform you that I was one of the victims of a property show drama by Star Homes Kochi, that was conducted in a Dubai Hotel in April 2008. The advt in the news paper and FM radios attracted many and asked the expatriate dreamers to bring the cheque book with them for 'spot booking'. Having being convinced by stunning presentation, like many, I too had been trapped by them. I had given full amount of Rs. 13, 95, 000 in 20 instalments believing their promise of handing over the flat by June 2010.
It was too late to come to know that it is a fraud company and many expatriates had been cheated. The builder brought unjustifiable reasons to halt the project like 'legal problem with neighbourhood', global recession, etc. When I asked about the payment back, their response is not positive at all. I have enquired about this company through my contacts in Kerala and I was shocked to learn that they were protected by mafia and having good connection with high rank police officials, judiciary and some political parties. They are confident that poor expatriates like me are unable to go court or to expose them through media. Nowadays their advt again appears in some Malayalam channels for the same project for which I booked a flat in 2008. They started once again to lure the hapless expatriates...! They spend huge amount for advertisement in channels and print media; there is no hesitation to pay high fees to their legal advisors as well. But, they are not ready to pay back my money that was given for the proposed flat. One of my friends, a journalist, told me that the main stream media never take interest to expose this scam because of Star Home's regular advertisement given to them.
In this context, may I request your support / advice so as to enable me to fight against Star Homes to get my hard earned money back from them. I found a few expatriates in the net who invested in the same project. In order to initiate a joint action, I wish to contact other hapless people who were trapped by Star Homes. If yourself or any of your friends / relatives is one among them, please revert back with your contact details. Even if you are not a victim, please share this content with your contacts so as to reach this news to the concerned people.
Thanks & Regards,
Gafoor Ahmed
