After I downloaded the software I found that I could not run it at all, my video card is not compatable and my computer can not use the video card that is required. The next day I tried to request a refund at the site. The forms on the site did not work, the options that were required were not selectable.
So I found a phone number for Digital River, the company that sold me the product.
They told me to wait 5-7 days for a refund.
I waited 8 days.
No refund.
I called again and they informed me that a refund had indeed been made, and that I should contact PayPal myself.
Which I did, by phone. PayPal assured me no refund had been made. A customer service representative also told me at one time that they did not handle refunds, and I would have to contact another company. This was incorrect information as well, and (I believe) an attempt to put me off longer. (You can only get a refund within 30 days, it's been almost that now.)
Again I call and they asked me to allow them 48 hours to look into the issue.
I did.
After that time had passed I called back and they said that they could not issue a refund until the game was officially released, on Feb. 2nd 2010. Informing me that I should call for a refund after that date.
So I did. They informed me that I should wait 48 hours for a refund.
No refund.
Calling back again I was told to wait 5-7 days from the day they told me to wait 48 hours and that the 48 hour time frame was incorrect. I was again assured that I would recieve my refund and would not have to call them again.
It has been 8 days from that date, and I still have no refund. I tried to contact Digital River through their website and found a customer service form, which I filled out and it brought me to my reciept. No service.
I never did download the full version of the game.
I am at my wits end with this company, I informed them that if I did not have my refund in the time specified I would file a dispute with paypal.
