I purchased a Yorkshire Terrier puppy from Starmye Halpain through Purebred Breeders on 7/26/2009 for $1534.00. I purchased an AKC registered puppy. On or about 8/12/2009 I sent in the registration papers to AKC. Her registered name is Darrell's Lil Hailey's Comet. # TR87664806 Female Date of Birth- May 20, 2009
Sire- Halpains Magnum TR44128101 09-07 AKC DNA #V491162,
Dam-Halpains Fiona TR59829505 10-09
Breeder Starmye Halpain & Robert Halpain
On or about January 14, 2010, I received a letter from the American Kennel Club ( Reference # 201000249)
This is a letter to inform us that a parentage verification analysis of American Kennel Club DNA Certifications was conducted on a dog in my dog's pedigree/lineage. The DNA results indicate that this dog could not be the offspring of the parents to which it is registered.
Because my dog is a direct descendent of a dog in the litter with incorrect parentage, the registration of my dog and its offspring have been placed on referral. This means that the American Kennel Club services will not be provided if the dogs in this litter are bred, sold, or transferred, and awards will not be recorded if these dogs participate in any American Kennel Club sanctioned or licensed events.
I noticed on the registration papers that I received from the American Kennel Club that there is no DNA listed for the Dam.
We have paid premium money for an AKC registered dog and we have been fooled by these breeders as well as many others. Direct action needs to be taken to prevent these breeders from getting away with such scams.
