Washington DC area based offices I have not been using starpower (RCN) service for 6 months because I have moved and I have chosen another better ISP for my new home. I thought to let my starpower account expire in early Sept. as long as I do not do the renew. (The previous connection was always bad and I could not find a right number to call.) I am not obligated to continue use this service; therefore I am not responsible to continue the payment.
In addition I have never received any sort of renew note, the automatic cancellation seems oblivious. However, I just received a letter (the only letter) from them with some very nasty words (something like they will send my name to collection agent...) said that I have to pay 49.66 (for the month of sept. to dec. 04) the service I never used. The dial number in the account is even not exists anymore. I do not mind to waste my 50 dollars, but I just feel that business practice is outrageous, very bad and ridiculers.
