I started an account in SBT, kottayam medical colg branch on January 2011(ac no 67139536311) and also applied for an ATM.The bank staff forgot to enter my house name in the application and my ATM card was sent back to SBT headquarters Mumbai by post office.
I went to bank several times for this but they asked me to wait for 1 month, then 2 months and it went on for 3.5 months.In the mean period i asked them to issue a duplicate card but they were continuously discouraging it telling that the secret pin of my card is already with them and for issuing a new card also it will take 3 months.
Finally i got my card on April last week.When i went to use it the card was found to be blocked by the bank.I went to my branch again and talked to the manager and the staff in charge and they assured me that it will take only 24 hrs to clear it.They told that they will mail the complaint that day itself.
After 5 days there was no response so i went to bank again and the staff told he mailed it but someone who should receive the mail on other end is on leave for 2 wk so there will be a delay till 3rd MAY 2011.On 5th may i again went to the branch and the staff told he will mail it again .Iam still waiting for "him to mail".
Everything went wrong because one of their staff forgot to enter my house name .That can happen to anyone but their blunt attitude towards the matter irritates me.
I don't believe that everything will be done with this complaint.But i want everyone who reads this to know about the situation in our banks and that's the reason for everyone running behind private banks.
