Jackson has a Health Unit Manager named Terri Rodgers who is out of control in her position. She hides her nurses poor practices. Her nurses are practicing BEYOND thier scope of practice by conducting Incision and Drainage, refusing inmate request for OTC pain medications without a providers exam or review (STATE LAW), do not sign out medications, tell the doctors, NPs, and PA's what they can and cannot do. Two nurses, Linda and Kathy refused orders from a qualified Nurse Practitioner, yes refused and then Terri Rodgers went about having the NP fired because she doesn't want people to know what she is doing. I called my manager twice regarding 1) Linda 4 times refused an order for a patient with hypertension and 2) my manager for a leading doctor ordering Toradol for a prisoner in pain - Kathy. I am told they are not over seen by the Deparment of Community Health because they are the Michigan department of Corrections. Jennifer Granholm what do you have to say - does the dept of community health state Nurses have a code of ethics and a scope of practice? I believe they do and I called the newspapers. Also, they are sending home prisoners to die with Hepatits C by refusing to give them the $100, 000 treatment and NOT educating them on it. That is who is getting early paroles - those with expensive health bills becasue the Federal Government mandated them to provide quality health care. All BAD managers should be named here and BAD companies who have poor managerial practices should be listed here. I've been wanting a site like this for years! Yes, Michigan employees are going on layoff and Nurse Julie is a LPN from a private (PRIVATE) nursing agency, Nurse JiM harrassed me religiously making fun of my pastor and weekly bible studies.
