Non-Payment
I was contracted to work a trade show for Statement models on October 5th, 6th, and 7th of 2009. I completed all 3 days of work. I was initially told by Statement models that I would be paid within 30 days of the last day of work. It is now May 21, 2010 and I have still not received payment for my services. I have attempted to contact Statement Models on numerous occasions via phone and email. I have gotten several emails back stating that "Checks will be sent out by early November", "We are processing checks as fast as possible, yours will mail out soon!", "Our January cash-flow looks better than what we have seen in a long time and we should be able to get the rest of the checks in the mail in January" and in the most recent contact I was told "You have been dropped from queue due to conduct." If there was a complaint made by the company I worked for Im almost positive that Statement Models would have told me that from the beginning instead of leading me on. The company was very pleased with my work and even offered to take me and the other girl I worked with (who has also not been paid) out to dinner when the trade show was over to thank us for such a great job. I will never work for this company again and I continue to warn other models that I meet about the company "Statement Models, Indy Models and 1st place Models" as they are all run by the same man. I am currently represented by a lawyer who will fully take over in 30 days from today (May 21, 2010) and take any legal action necessary against this company if I have not received payment in full. I have read many other complaints that models have made on this company stating the exact same thing as myself; That shows me that this company has no intention of running a proper business, but the intention to rip off models for their time and work they completed. I hope that this issue is resolved soon.
