I bought the DVD game Civ 5 on 1 DVD (+/- 4.3Gb) recently. i have to register with Steam before playing. when i try ti do so i am informed i have to download another 4.6Gb from the internet. I am a pensioner who operates on a limited budget and have a 384 ADSL connection with a 1Gb cap. Steam want to rip me off for another R245 for the extra cap I need, + at a download speed of +/- 40 kbs, I calculate that the download is going to take me in the region of 30 hours.
I understand the need to fight piracy of software, but all my software is genuine. If this isn't a rip-off I don't know what is! I am now one less customer who will never buy "Firaxis" or "2K" products again.
If asked about them or steam I will gladly tell my "rip-off" story
