I visit the mediatakeout.com site literally every day to catch up on some Hollywood gossip which I will not lie, I enjoy. Occasionally, they post topics that I don’t find very interesting and often at times contradict yourselves. For example, one minute they will write a certain celebrity is horrible looking and the next day write how he/she is the baddest male/female artist in the game. But, whatever, I know how gossip columnists can be, it’s what they do. I also accept the fact that they may have some self-proclaimed and not very credible journalists as often there are misspelled words in the main subject lines of their columns. However, today I visited the site and found something utterly offensive not to the celebrity but to the person whom was photographed by one of their readers. It was the column on Amber Rose and what she would look like in a couple of years. In the picture was a woman who was completely bald and in my opinion, I believe may have been sick. Yes, I am not certain, but all in all, how do they know the woman may not have had or has cancer, alopecia or a disease in the likes of same causing hair loss? That is insulting and I am sure she would not have appreciated that. I know that their readers send them these photos but I am pretty sure they are overseen and approved via some department or personnel before being actually posted. I ask as a reader that maybe they should consider before approving such things that can be of such offense. It’s one thing to make fun of someone’s look, way of dressing, etc...but when they make fun of a celebrity at the expense of another innocent individual who may be having health problems, is just wrong and more importantly, disgusting. There has to be a fine line which must be crossed in being a journalist or should I say “self-proclaimed ones” and I believe they all have crossed it. I am a person whose mother passed away from cancer and I know that losing your hair is something uneasy to deal with.
