OMG Shoes STINK!
I bought a pair of Steve Madden shoes. Awesome fit and style, but after a day of wearing them I had the worst smell emitting from the shoes.
Cant even begin to explain, kind of mixed between dead crap and chemical. So bad that after scrubing my feet with sea salt I can still smell it the next day through my normal shoes. So I will return these odor shoes.

New shoe and used shoe
I ordered 3 pair of steve madden shoes from online. I excited that they shipped really quick. However, when i opened the last box of shoes and took them out, i had one shoe that was dark purple suede and pretty like it was supposed to be, the other shoe looked as if it was left outside in 100 degree heat all summer and was really faded. I was shock that they would even send them to me. It was a major difference and you could tell. When i called to complain, they let me know that i could return them but they were not in stock so i would have to get a refund. I'm really upset because i was supposed to wear them this weekend in a wedding... :(

Horrible service
I ordered a pair of shoes from the Steve Madden website size 6 1/2 and when I got them the box was not even taped closed, then I saw the right shoe was used and a size 7. So I called the customer service number 1-888-SMADDEN and tried to get them to fix the problem, they said I would have to place another order and charge my card again, and the refund from the initial order would come later, I'm sorry but if I can't even trust you to send me an unused shoe I'm not giving you more money. If I had screwed up that badly I would bend over backwards to fix the problem not push the responsibilty to the customer.

I purchased a pair of Steve Madden sandals in May of 2008 in Tampa, Florida. When I wore the shoes this year the heel of the shoe broke. I love Steve Madden shoes and I don't this to effect me purchasing these shoes in the furture. Can someone please contact me in regards to this matter.
Thanks,

Bad service
I am a 50 year old consumer. Over the past 3-4 years, I've purchased 2 to 3 pairs of Steve Madden shoes. The problem with the shoe was the horrible odor that came from inside the shoe. To solve the problem, I've used the real leather in soles from my old shoes from companies like Bostonian, Clark, and Timberland etc. then the old smell did not generate from within.
I've written emails to the United States Steve Madden branch customer service. Their response was that they would always push the situation and forward it to another department which would in turn contact me about the problem. I've written 4-5 emails with the same response. More recently, Steve Madden customer service has stopped responding to my emails regarding the problem.
My past experience from the Clark shoe company was extremely good. I had the bottom soles of a pair of new Clark shoes split into two and they still accepted my return along with shipping me a new pair in the mail.
I am currently wearing the Steve Madden leather shoes that I've purchased however with the old leather in soles from my Clark branded shoes that I threw out.
I would like to know why Steve Madden wouldn't take some time to research and analyze why customers like myself, wear their branded leather shoes and have a odor but when I wear other branded shoes, it doesn't smell. They should take responsibility to not ignore customers like myself this problem. I do not believe I am the only one with this problem.
If a company distributes leather shoes that causes consumers to wear a shoe with a horrible odor, is there any legal action that can be taken? I would appreciate if anyone familiar or experienced in the Law field gave me a response.
I also have a son, 22 years old, who had the same problem with the Steve Madden shoes. He brought the shoes the same time as I did and had the same horrible odor resulting from the in soles.
Why does someone like myself, that wear Bostonian, Clark, Timberland, Hush Puppie shoes, etc., that does not smell but wearing Steve Madden shoes smell? Please, if anyone from Steve Madden, would forward this email to staff, and see the cause of the problem. Thank you.

Horrible Odor
I am a 23 year old consumer. Just recently however, I've purchased shoes from Steve Madden. These were leather shoes by the way. After a couple of days of wearing, it was beginning to smell. It had a really bad odor from the leather. I never had a problem with the smell of my feet, so it was apparently the smell of the leather that arose. I've changed the foot padding and such and nothing seem to work. Not only did my shoes smell, my father purchased the same one's recently as well from Steve Madden, and he's having the same problem.
I suggest that Steven Madden do some research about the material used to make their shoes. And why the leather smells horribly after a few days of wear.

My account had several holds for online purchase
I had purchased three pairs of shoes from Steve Madden online for a total of $95.29, including s&h. A day later, they shipped out one pair. Later that day, the other two pairs were shipped out. I then check my bank account online only to find out they have two holds on my account, one for $95.29 and another for $57.00. I call customer support to figure out the issue. They tell me that The company has to put these holds on your account to insure the funds are available for payment. The $57 hold is for the two pair of shoes shipped out together. And then the customer support rep tells me my account will have ANOTHER hold of $32 dollars or so for the 2nd shipment. Why on earth do they need to put all these holds on my account, I never got a straight answer, since it was some Indian people who kept answering the phones...WTF?!? Can't anyone in America speak English anymore...no! ...not spanglish...ENGLISH please! So anyhow the customer rep tells me the $95 hold will not authorize but will be removed once the $32 charge hits my account. Unfortunately b-c of all these holds Steve madden had on my bank account, my account was NSF. My bank then charged me and OD fee...this is just not right. Why on earth did Steve Madden need to put all these holds on my account. So I tried calling customer support AGAIN to complain, only for them to tell me that "that is just how our system works." What a great answer...To me this does not seem legal. The company put almost $150 in holds on my checking account, even though my order was only for roughly $95 dollars...

Bad service
I went to Steve Madden to buy a comfortable pair of work shoes. I tried some on and bought them. The first and only day I wore them I ended up walking barefoot through the streets of DC because I could not stand to take another step in them. My feet were bleeding. I noticed after wearing them for the first and only day that the seams were fraying so I decided to return them since they would not work for my purposes. I went back to the store with my receipt and explained my story. Apparently they were on clearance because they were buy one get one half off(I bought only one full price pair) so all sales were final. The original sales person failed to mention this and it was only in small print on the bottom of the receipt. The shoes are not listed as clearance either, but the price ends with .99, so that is supposed to be the giveaway.
