Horrendous customer service
About 3 weeks ago an ad paper came out from this company putting a particular brand, make and model of roof turbine on sale. Well, I called the company and ordered 2 of them and they said they didn't have any on the floor, but they would have them in a few days and would call me. They call me a couple of days later and tell me they are in. I work full time from before they open until after they close several days in a row, so I call them to confirm that they can't sell these turbines to someone else in the few days that I had to work and was not able to make it to the store to pick them up. I was reassured by the lady that they had a "pick ticket" on them with my name on it, that they COULD NOT be sold to anyone. I drive many miles out to this store to pick up my turbines only to find out that the computer showed the turbines as having been sold to someone else the day before. I couldn't believe it. I had specifically called the store to ensure that could not happen and it did. After spending an hour at the store, the lady told me a driver would be delivering them to my house from another state that evening. I was happy with that. That evening, the truck shows up WITH THE WRONG TURBINES!! I had the ad paper in my hand with a picture of the item, brand make and model and the driver initially tried to tell me it was the right ones because the skew number was correct. It had been manually hand written on the box!! Eventually he apologized and said he would get the right ones. The next day the previously nice lady called me with an attitude saying they were the right ones. I pointed out to her that the ones I ordered were lifetime warranty, all aluminum and from brand X. I was delivered galvanized steel, 5 year warranty from brand Y. She had the audacity to say, "Well those are the only ones we have like that." I told her, well then cancel my order and I'm getting my money back because that's not what I ordered. She hesitated a minute and said she would get back with me. She calls me later and tells me that they would have to get those in from their supplier and it would be, at the earliest, "next friday." It's the Monday before, that means almost 2 weeks. Well, 2 weeks go by and no turbines. I call and she said that the earliest would be this Friday. This started way back in May and it's the middle of June and I still don't have what I ordered. While I would not mind buying from these people off the floor, I highly advise everyone to avoid ordering anything from them. I'm not quite sure how honest anyone has been up to now. It seems that all they want to do is get rid of me, and all I want is the damn turbines I ordered! I suggested that they find out who sold the original turbines out from under me and they said nobody would fess up to it so there was no way they could know. I told them that there are cameras all over this store, if they really wanted to find out who screwed up, they could. I tried to give my local small lumber company a shot as I am buying a house and will need thousands of dollars of stuff to fix it up. I thought I'd do business with Stines as my dad did 30 years ago. That was a huge mistake. Within 7 days I will either have my turbines or I will cancel my order and go somewhere else. This is beyond ridiculous now.
