They are Cons and Tricksters
I am a very Disgusted and Very Upset of the way some people can just get away how they treat people and ripp them off with no conscious guilt. These people should be investigated, get seud/fined big time, put in jail. These people are just hurting families who work hard for the money, paying their insurance and taxes. And they don't care who they pray upon. And You Are Next If You Put Ur trust On Them.

((((((I'm a Pissed Off Customer!))))))))) And there are many others like me.

This woman Betty Kennedy who is suppose to be divorsed but then still carries her ex-husbands last name is a Big Time Liar. She told me personally awhile back before I seen this complaint that her husband is a Liar and rips off playing around people all the time. That she is not like her husband and would never do the things he does to his customers. That this is the reasons she divorsed him. She told me she does her job right and her customers are always happy. What A Bull of %$#@!*&^%$#@!
Then I seen this complaint and I was like WOW! I had a feeling she was lieing, but now I know for a fact she lied.

Mr Jim James D Kennedy, Ms betty Kennedys buddy broke his contract by abandoning his job, not finishing it completely and then trying to con me for money that I don't owe. then puts me on collections just to say he can do whatever he likes to do to you and it seems the Law is letting him get away with it.

I say to betty Kennedy give this customer his money back cause obviously you broke the contract. And stop being such an ass crying about it. that money does not belong to you. you guys are Thieves

Complaint
Complaint Description - Posted 11/30/2010
Summary - They cashed a check for $7347.72 and never came out to do any work, none. No materials, no labor, nothing.

Initial Complaint
They cashed a check for $7347.72 and never came out to do any work, none. No materials, no labor, nothing.
On May 7 2010 the company requested an insurance check be cashed and turned over to them so they could buy materials to fix the damage to our home. They cashed the check we wrote to them into their account and gave us a receipt.
We had a standing contract with them to do the repairs and an assurance that the work would be done quickly and professionally. They never came out. A half dozen phone calls were met with excuse after excuse. Until recently then Ms. Kennedy informed me that she and her husband were getting a divorce and that the company wasn't going to do the work or return the money. Even though it is the same company and Ms. Kennedy was an owner at the time the check was cashed and they are still using the same business license.
She explained that her ex husband was the bad guy and we should go find him, even though he has moved out of state and the business is still going here.
Put quite simply this is theft. The LLC that is Storm Damage Specialists took money to do a job and never did any of it. I have the copy of the check they cashed, the receipt they gave and the work contract but no work. What I do have is water damage that is now ten time worse than is was.

Resolution Sought
My $7347.72 back.

Response
Dear Better Business Bureau,

In regards to the Asher's concerns: We do not promise a start date for any of our clients for many reasons which are:

To start with, at any given time we have a backlog of 30 or more customers from the day any of our clients turn over the first check/draw from their insurance company which they are obligated by contract to do!

This is not the only reason which we do not promise a specific start date verbally or contractually. As you may or may not know, all of our construction involves the renovations of older homes. Each home often has multiple trade work which has to be done to it for example:

1. Complete roof tear off and replacement.
2. Siding repair, removal and or replacement.
3. Soffit repair and or replacement
4. Fascia repair and or replacement
5. Gutter and or downspout removal and replacement.
5. Interior refinishing, which may consist of multiple room drywall removal, insulation removal and replacement, mold remediation, application of anti-microbial, sealing and painting?

The number of trades alone makes it impossible for us to give any of our clients a specific start date.

There are also other things besides multiple trades which hinder us from being able to give any of our clients a specific start date specifically that our renovations are all on older homes which often need rotten wood replacement.

This is when we remove the shingles and only once they are removed can we see if there is rotten decking which has to be replaced. Rotten wood replacement of the decking of the roof and the wood behind siding can add days to weeks to any attempt to forecast a start/finish date of the project.

Another reason that we do not specify a start date for any of our clients is due to the fact that we cannot forecast unforeseen acts of God such as days of in climate weather such as rain and snow!

We take the time to explain this to all of our clients and never give them a specific start or finish date!

Also, their statement about their interior damage getting worse is the first time that we have been made aware of it and we will be scheduling a time to provide them with a free emergency roof repair to prevent further damage along with the proper repair of their interior once we complete all of the repairs!

Lastly, I do not think that their statements regarding the owner's personal business should have anything to do with this attempt to file a legitimate complaint against us! The personal life of the owners has no bearing on the way that they are being treated, or the time frame in which it takes for each and or any of our clients to receive there product!
We would like to address their concerns the way that we handle each and every one of our other clients that may express similar concerns which is we will be scheduling a time to do an emergency roof repair until their turn on the production list is reached!

We also hope that you will understand that any/all interior damage is covered and will be repaired once we start the renovations.
We cannot move them in front of other clients whom have been waiting longer and in all of the years that we have been in business we have never had any of the hundreds of clients that we have helped not get their product so we are requesting that you allow us to address their concerns the way that we do any of our other clients, and that this not affect our A+ rating with the BBB. Thank you very much for your time and concern in this matter!

Roof leaks
I had a contract with sds of America for a new roof, it took three months to start the job and several abusive phone calls from Jim Kennedy the owner of the company, complaining he didn't get enough money to start the job as people rob him and his wife was dieting.
Three months of weathering storms without even a cover over original damage.
The insurance proceeds were dispersed in thirds, and when the roof was finaly put on I complained it did not look right in place, Jim said it was how it was supposed to look.
On the final payment day they sent a reresentitive that didn't know how much the final balance was meant to be, I had him call Jim Kennedy, as I did not want to have any confusion, it was agreed up that I sign over the insurance check and that they owed me 868 and that I was paid in full, they even signed off on the contract, but I did not get a lien release, several months go by and no refund. I contact Jim Kennedy and he assures me he come and settle, but never does, so finally I file a complaint to the bbb, I get a call the next day from Jim Kennedy of sds say that I did not pay him in full and I owed him money.
He takes me to court, not once but twice and both time the judges rule in our favor that he owes us money because we have a signed contract paid in full and they owe us change.
A few months ago after some bad storms our roof starts leaking, I call Jim Kennedy, he said I don't have a warrant because I didn't pay him in full, now every time it rains it leaks and is now within an inch of an electrical outlet, but he refuses to fix it or honor the warrant, and insists I pay him what the judge awarded against him.
If you she storm damage specialists sign in anyones yard, do the homeowner a favor and let them know these people will screw them, and not honor anything in their contract, not to mention buffeting the insurance claim to cover deductibles...insurance fraud I believe.
