INTERNET FAILS, EXTRA FEES CHARGED TO MY CARD
I was told the total charge per month was $30.00 including all taxes/fees. Now I am being charged extra on my card after an initial two months at the agreed upon rate) and after a series of emails and telephone calls (with people who are almost impossible to understand) to the number they provided, it is clear that they are guilty of deceptive practices. They are now telling me that the extra charge is for taxes. My last email stated that I will be disputing the extra charges with my credit card company. Additionally, I too have have miserable success using the internet. After another exhaustive and frustrating talk with their customer service department, it worked for about and hour. I am very disappointed with this product and it's clear I've gotten what I have paid for.

Paid for phones, took my money!
• In December of 2010 Straight Talk offered a special you buy the service card either 30.00 or 45.00 and they gave you the Samsung R355C free with over night shipping. GREAT DEAL! So I borrowed my grandmas credit card(#1) which was a VISA and I ordered 3 phones. A combination of 30 cards and 45 dollar cards cannot remember how many of each. Totaling around $120.00 which was an awesome deal. So I turned around and ordered two more, with a different credit card(#2). I ordered a 30.00 card and a 45.00 card ( plus the free phones ) so with taxes my total was $80.25 this was charged to my visa not my grandmas and this was on 12-15-10. After receiving these phones I figured Id try to order my step daughter one so she could have a better phone than what she already had. I tried to order this with a different card, this time my MasterCard ending in 0968 we will call this card #3. I then got a email saying they were out of stock due to high demand. Which was okay, we had already got a great deal on the others. Then on January 8th, 2010 I got a charge on the mastercard ending in 0968 for $96.30 so I called straight talk to see why this charge was on there? They told me they seen no record of the charge on their end and they used my name and credit card number. So since they did not have information on their end I was instructed by Straight Talk employees Vince and Stephanie to contact my bank and dispute the charge because with no information on their end they could not do anything. So I did that and money was refunded to the card and no issues. Then all of a sudden April 27, 2011 my husband and step daughters phone quit working. I had assumed it was the bad weather we had been having but they were still not working the next morning. So I called straight talk. ( also, I gifted the other 3 phones I had ordered and I contacted those people to see if their phones were working and they were not ). Upon calling straight I was told that I have filed an invalid dispute and inorder to get my phones back on I had to pay $165.00 by money order to them. I told them that the dispute I opened and filed had nothing to do with these phones that are shut off. The dispute that was filed was on a charge of $96.30 that no one could even find record of to tell me what the charge was for and the phones were paid for by different debit cards. I told them I had the receipts and everything and I was instructed by their company to file the dispute. My husbands phone is his business phone and is printed on hundreds of tshirts and business cars and vehicles. I have spent over 8 hours trying to fix this and talked to I don’t even know how many people and I do not know what to do right now because the phones are still not working but yet they were paid for by debit card #1 and debitcard #2 and the dispute was filed on the mysterious charge on debit card #3. No one can give me answers to anything. I want to know what serial numbers were activated from Debit card #1 and Debit card #2. If they could prove that, they would see they were paid for. And debit card #3 was never used to order anything because the product was out of stock and didn’t even total up to $96.30 to begin with. Contact email: [email protected] Thanks for the time!

Deactivated my phone and didn't turn it back on
I bought the LG290CM at Wal-mart, took it home called and had it activated. Media messaging didn't work and text took way to long to get me. My son stood in the rain for an hour because of it. I pre-paid a month when I bought the phone. The turned it off on the third day and I called to get them to reset or reactivate it. Another three days later it went off again. They told me my phone had not been purchased!!! They told me to mail them the original receipt. I did. They in return said they didn't get it. Since I mailed them the original they would not take the copy I made before I mailed it. They would not accept the bank statement either...I got stuck with the most expensive phone and lost a whole month of service almost. They phone service ***, their reps are not very English orientated or intelligent and they even tried to bill me the next month after my phone had been off all month. I eventually gave up and took it as a loss. You would think a multi-billion dollar corporation like Wal-mart would have done thier research on these guys. Straight Talk is a good name for them because they are going straight down the drain.

Garbage
I got a straight talk phone about three months ago. It seemed like a good idea at the time. Im in college, needed a cheap phone, the appeal of the wireless internet was there too, seeing as most people have droids/iphones/whatever now. I had been with verizon for a number of years, but they piss me off to no end (thats another story). anyways i plopped down $100 for a phone, and $45 for the unlimited plan. 2 months in i started getting the 30 dollar card, i dont go over 1000 texts per month (since im not a teenage r-tard that only communicates this way) and i was surprised to see that i didnt run past 30mb of data seeing as i check my facebook on it about everyday.

Things were going good. Too good.

Then my phone started turning off. again and again. I still had my receipt from the original purchase. 87 days in my phone was dead. Took it to walmart, of course they wouldnt exchange/refund/ be helpful in any way. I guess i should have expected this from a phone thats obviously targeted towards drug dealers and illegal immigrants. They told me to call samsung tech service, despite the obvious hurdle of not having a working phone.

But my saga doesnt stop there. I made the second mistake of buying another phone. Had to call from a friends phone to try to activate it. ended up in an hour long conversation with someone who barely spoke english and wasnt any help. They said to put some codes in which they read to me. well i did and guess what? nothing happened. They said it could take up to 24 hours to "activate on its own". 5 days later i still dont have a working phone. my old plan just ran out and i lost my number. ie- the same number that i have been putting on my resumes and job apps. FML

so right now ill try calling them again, well see what happens.

on the whole its the deal could in theory really be a great alternative to verizon/at&t/whatever. however it is just so poorly implemented and customer service *** so bad that you really need the luck of the irish or some unicorn blood to have a good overall experience with it.

HORRIBLE company that lies and use your minutes and texts
I have been using a straight talk phone since January and up until now have had no problems but now, they are pissing me off!! A few weeks ago I was told that I would get a free halloween ringtone but when I went online to get it, it kept popping up that my phone hadn't been put into the system and I needed to call customer service. I called 4 different times over a 2 day period because NOBODY knows what they are doing with this company and all of them are idiots who kept saying problem solved when it wasn't. The only reason I kept calling again was because 1, I was assured my minutes were not getting used up and it was free to call them since they were customer service after all and 2, they kept telling me there was a problem with my phone that needed to be fixed. The 4th time I called I DEMANDED to talk to a supervisor and up till this point I had requested to but was always told that I was not allowed to. This time after over 45 minutes of waiting I got to finally talk to a supervisor and turns out all I had to do to fix all of these problems was to set up my online account, something the very first person should have been able to tell me!! So all in all I spent OVER 4 hours on the phone with straight talk being put on hold time after time, talking to idiots that had no idea what they were doing (some of which I could barely understand so that made it all the more frustrating), while not getting the help I needed!! But that is just issue #1.

About a week after I had called them I realized that they had not only taken the time I spent on the phone with them out of my minute usage, but they had also deducted more minutes that I hadn't even used. I was assured that my time on the phone with them was free and would not be taken out of my minute usage. They put me on hold time after time after time for over 4 hours so if I had known that they were taking my minutes for this I wouldn't have called in the first damn place! Now as I said I have used this phone provider since January and I have always bought the 1000 minute plan because I have NEVER even gotten close to using that. A few months ago we started using my cell phone as our home phone as well but we're not phone talkers and have still never gone over 500 minutes used. We do not use our phone much at all!! Since they are liars who say one thing and do another, I decided to write them an email instead of calling about the situation, since they would no doubt take the rest of my minutes away. I have sent 3 emails to this company explaining my problem and demanding they fix it and give me back my minutes. They have responded to two of my 3 emails and said "We would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any
inconvenience you may have experienced with this issue on accessing our
mobile web." I AM NOT HAVING PROBLEMS ACCESSING MOBILE WEB YOU STOLE MY MINUTES!!! So a few minutes ago I get a phone call from one of these idiots and when I told her I did not want to talk to her on the phone because they were using these minutes and that they needed to converse with me in emails only, she told me once again to call the 1800 number. When I said a big hell no to that because they haven't left me with many minutes left as is and I know they'll use the rest all up when I call she told me to go to a payphone to call and then hung up on me. I am FURIOUS!!

This company is so unprofessional. It makes me so angry how they said one thing and did another and now won't even fix the problem at hand without taking up more of my money and time. They need to get their stuff together and they need to do it quick. If they are going to use your minutes when you call they should tell you that up front so you can email. Not that email helps anything obviously!! They don't know the first thing about customer service and helping a customer, they don't know how to fix problems, and they take all of your minutes when they have said you will not get charged those minutes so they're also liars. My service runs up on the 22nd and my remaining minutes they have not stolen yet will hopefully last me until then but I will definitely not be renewing my service. I have heard many stories from people who have gotten horrible customer service from them and I just thought it was weird cause I had never had a problem with them. I will definitely never recommend this company to anyone else ever again (I have gotten at least 10 people to switch to straight talk and that makes me angry that I told them they should switch to what I now know is a horrible company!!) and I will only be telling the negatives of the straight talk wireless customer service reps and managers!! Because of this ridiculousness they are losing a few very good customers. Not that me and a few of my friends leaving them is a big deal to them, but the numbers will add up if they don't fix their horrible customer service!! I strongly urge anyone considering to go to straight talk to reconsider unless they are ok with shitty customer service!!

Charged me twice
I have a straight talk phone. The phone works fine but the company charged my account twice in the same month Sept 16, and then the 23 for $49.64. They have no one who can speak clear English and they transfer you from representative to representative to help you with your valid complaint. I have spent a total of 14 hours over the last 34 days trying to get my money back. I even cancelled the service but guess what ????? They charged me again on October 25. I was placed on hold for 42 minutes just today. If you hang up you never get the same person again. You have to start all over again with the story and then they transfer you and then you end up on hold all over again.

Customer Services
I can not believe I waist 75 minutes of my life activating a phone card. I established my account 3 moths ago, and every time I call to activate my card, takes forever. Extremely bad costumer services

Worst Phone Service Ever
I'm not gonna type out 20 paragraphs of a rant. Google "Straight talk wireless complaints". Look at the posts just from today alone. I just spent 02:12:11 on hold before i gave up- thats two hours, twelve minutes and 11 seconds. And that was just today. I've made at least 50 calls trying to get through to customer service in the past 4 days. I returned my broken phone for a replacement a week ago & still am waiting for my new one- they assured me it would be a few days wait. I cant get through to customer service AND i called fedex and they have no record of a package in transit to me from straight talk. Walmart won't do anything about it because they just sell the phones, they don't service them. I'm a pretty patient person, but I've had no phone for a week & it looks like a slim chance of getting a replacement anytime soon. I finally gave up and called my credit card company to dispute the charges for the phone and service. of course now Straight talk owns my phone number that i had for 10 years and ported over to their service, so thats another issue i need to deal with. grrr. sorry i said i wasn't going to type a long rant. Do yourself a favor. Spend the extra $10 a month on a reliable cell phone company. I'm done
